[CabCurio Tutorial] If I were... with an Elektron Digitakt

I’m toying with three different personas that might have fun with the #Elektron #Digitakt:

  • The person new to Elektron Instruments
  • The Synth Collector
  • The Sound Designer

did they impose a limit on individual live sampling time in the end?
it was a bit of a vague area of info in the run up to release that.

The sampling time available is 33 seconds.

From the manual:

The maximum sampling time is 33 seconds and this is always available even if the projects 64 MB of RAM memory is all used up.

It’s Impossible to record longer samples ?

33 seconds is pretty long for a drum sample…

I see what you’re saying, but I think they went a different way for this one.

You know Octatrack !
Surprised by that limit. Anyway I’ll keep OT forever !
No time to watch it totally but thanks for the demo !

@CarlMikaelBjork can the midi tracks be played with the chromatic mode or just programmed? Loved the midi>modular part!!

Sure. Midi is also playable chromatically!

The synth collector profil is surely interesting…if the midi freeze bug is corrected

It doesn’t seem that you encounter this problem tho. Did you?

No. I heard some people talk about it. But I was spared! :smile_cat:

Really?? so it’s possible to play the 16 buttons as a keyboard and record midi notes for the midi tracks? thats awesome! nice to know. huge selling point for me. planning to sequence my modular also!

Thank you for this video. Smart and helpful!

I’m interested in hooking up Digitakt to modular.
Did you use some kind of converter box to connect to ES FH-1 ?
Or can Digitakt communicate directly with FH-1 ?

FH-1 seems to require Class-Compliant midi device.

There is something mysterious going on here. I’m using an iConnect Midi4 to interface all my midi gear. That one responds to midi from Digitakt and passes it on to the FH-1. The FH-1 does not work directly from the Digitakt, though. But to my understanding it reasonably should. haven’t dug to deep into this yet. Since my solution is working.

Ah ok. Good to know.
Thanks
