Recommended album for the C64:
for real hardware or emulator: [CSDb] - Modern Love Classics by MultiStyle Labs (2017)

This was on C64 but I can only find the full version on DOS, anyway thought it was too fun not to share

Sounds like Metal or maybe Drax (Vibrants). Nice!

Defmon is great too, although I am still learning it, I like how it can make non typical sid sounds:

have you tried sid wizard yet ? I’ve been using it a bit more recently and really enjoy it. compared to every other music software I’ve used for c64, defmon and mssiah included, it’s the most rewarding in terms of productivity at least for me

I have it but not tried it yet, but plan to when time permits. Your comment is intriguing me to get stuck in!

it’s the most modern feeling tracker experience on the commodore. if you’re familiar with trackers the learning curve to making nice sounds isn’t very steep. everything is also laid out quite nicely. you’re not gonna get lost in cryptic menus.

This one’s a little different

That Bonzai demo was amazing! I haven’t seen a C=64 demo in awhile but I’m amazed that the scene still is evolving.
Funny thing that the scrollers most likely looks smoother IRL than on a modern tech YouTube HD-stream.

Agreed! I think I saw my first demo in 1986 on the C64. I’ve been watching them ever since

It’s funny to think about the things they can do now on the same hardware.

I need to see if I can dig up some of those old ones.

Edit: Found some. Commando Frontier made several of the ones I used to have.

Not sure why it didn’t embed…

Recently stumbled across this really cool youtube channel, he made a tracker program to sequence relays with the C64, some interesting uses for music/lights etc. Well worth a sub and he has a github with some other great C64 resources, check it out:

His meat smoker controlled from a C64 is all kinds of awesome too:

I connected the relay board to OP-1 via Oplab, still figuring it out but she chooches:

You seem to have a proper electronics lab going on.

If I only had the brain to go with it, would save a fortune and have a totally custom setup :joy:

Gonna make a few interfaces so that C64 gets external clock, then an analog sequencer sequenced from the relay tracker, think I can manage a bit of cmos stuff….

I am upset with myself for selling my Oplab back in 2016. So stupid. As far as C64 goes, the closest I will ever get is using C64 samples in Tracker and OT. I know that’s not the real deal but it’s fun.

Just dropped from Goto80

I really need to get back into Defmon, a really nice if a bit complicated tracker, the documentation could be better though, but it is what it is I guess.
