So, C6 has been removed (it used to exist solely on the Analog Drive Support page) but Transfer isn’t quite there for all SysEx tasks. I just did a search for it to help a forum user. But it’s gone, as far as I can tell. Will we get some communication from Elektron about what to use, do you think?
Something’s coming…
Other makers utilize SysEx, like Sequential. The app was called MIDI-OX on windows.
I hope they release a transfer that can properly backup projects. IE patterns+samples for rytm/digitakt
Plenty of other good tools around.
Whats your use case?
Project backup for Rytm mainly
Hopefully they’ve teamed up with Elk-Herd to make an absolute beast of a management platform that works on all devices

I like C6, I still use it to do all OS updates and I also use it for other sysex duties on other gear where midiox sometimes does not work.
I downloaded it about a week ago when I got a new PC.
this link not works anymore, I found another one from elektron cdn https://cdn.www.elektron.se/media/downloads/machinedrum-uw/Elektron_C6_MAC_AND_WIN_1.51.zip
Might be worth uploading it to the files area on the forum?
Here you go:
it is not helpfull for me, cause it is not works with fresh mac os version.
Check out SysEx Librarian. Totally free and works on M1.
Yes, sysex librarian. But beware, if you updated your dn and maybe other machines also meanwhile, older .syx backups and soundpacks maybe don’t work on updated machine somehow now.
If you have still everything on your updated machine, it seems one should make another backup with transfer for the new filenames thing.
thank you so much, this worked for me
Working link here
It’s not wise to install anything on your computer from sketchy sites like that.
C6 can easily be found on Archive.org at the capture of the link @darenager posted a few years back: https://web.archive.org/web/20220312230804/https://www.elektron.se/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Elektron_C6_MAC_AND_WIN_1.51.zip
weird, I tried some archive.org links recently and all came out dead. Thanks for sharing a working one, that’s def preferable (!!!)
This is great. I ran into the dreaded Rytm MKI freezes-then-crashes-upon-receiving-samples issue with my Apple Silicon macs, and at the time my only solution to the issue was to use an older, intel-based mac with Transfer app.
If C6 still works, it’s a viable alternative for Rytm MKI sample transfers, although a much slower one than transfer
