Could be worth a look! Not checked it all out yet, but had always wanted a stereo BBD delay. Been impressed with their Space arch Re-202 pedal in the same format
Hmmmmm. Looks like mono input?!?
The specs say:
Connectors:
INPUT jack, OUTPUT A/MONO jack, OUTPUT B jack: 1/4-inch phone type
CTL 1, 2/EXP jack: 1/4-inch TRS phone type
So that is definitely mono input.
Yeah mono in and stereo out, wet/dry mono or wet only stereo out. Looks like another solid boss release. I’m still waiting to get some cash together for the EVH sde delay.
odd they’ve not added the “line OR guitar” input button like they have on the RE-202…
Wow an interesting looking delay - 8x 2048 stage BBDs! I wonder if they made new ones, used vintage ones (doubtful) or used clones.
That’s a surprise. Does look really interesting!
Mono input places it behind the SDE3000 for me.
Wow they’re on a roll. I hope it handles line levels as well as the RE-202. Can’t wait till they do the CE-1 in this format.
“while retaining all the desirable analog characteristics that players love about their favorite BBD stomps.”
This is usually the kind of copy you read on advertising marketed towards guitar players.
So, despite all the midi I think it’s just an “or guitar” kind of situation they had in mind here, kind of a miss on that note but still should be pretty great for most applications where your dry signal is mono.
isn’t that a fully digital delay though?
Sounds lovely. Just watched the Andertons vid.
Yeah. Ooph. This may be an expensive “get both” scenario.
Demo with Synths and Groovebox.
Unfortunately, according to the guy from the video, it’s not that good with Line levels. Hear it at 5:20.
Yeah you’ll need a mixer for sure with this one. Or a DI box like the Radial JDI.
If any of you ever get the chance to buy a Roland DC-30, jump on it. I think there’s old Boss half-rack units that are similar as well.
The pre-amp seems to be the same as the pre-amp from the famed Boss KM-60 mixer so it can function as an overdrive as well. The BBD delay produces great feedback grunge or sweet filtered repeats. I have it next to a serviced RE-201 and I use the DC-30 almost every time instead.
Just wish it was stereo. Guess I need two.
I used these kinds of delays on an fx send on my mixer where the stereo input is less of an issue. But if you are using it directly from a stereo synth or other device, perhaps an issue.
Amazing pedal, though re-amping is a deal-breaker.
Why so?
