Boost pedal for Volca Beats

I solved the problem with low volume from Beats.
(If somebody is also expiriencing this, check this solution: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQNrb6ub3EQ)

But, i feel theres still room for adding more volume.

I looking for a pedal that will boost my signal and not overly mess with the sound, maybe slight coloring is okay…

What do you guys think of BBE Stomp Maximizer or maybe a Spark Booster??

Im new to pedals so, jump in…

P:S. I dont wanna use compressor, cause volca goes to A4 input and then A4 goes to compressor, so boost pedal will sit beetween A4 and Beats.

Thanks!!!

The thing about guitar pedals is that they are generally designed to work with a higher impedence signal than line level stuff. This can theoretically effect your sound but not always.

Probabaly better to use some sort of preamp that can handle line level instruments. Lots of cheap ones out there. Even a little mixer would work for this.

yeah this ^^… not sure about the pedals you mention but I have an MXR micro amp which I use mostly for guitars and I wouldn’t ever be without it because it boosts in a really transparent way - if anything, it brings out something more harmonic and present without really colouring the sound of the instruments and only when you really push it, does it start to break up a bit (but in a good way - it doesn’t sound fizzy and digital if you know what I mean?) I tried the micro amp on the Beats and it works ok though I prefer to keep the signal as clean as possible and just add a touch of gain by running it through a mixer…

I know its not loved brand, but this is just an example,

something like this: http://www.thomann.de/gb/behringer_mic200_tube_ultragain_preamp.htm

I’d personally go for something solid state, or at least replace the tubes with something higher quality. Tubes definitely impart a character to sound and are prone to noise. The quality of tubes are also generally skimped on for budget gear.

The D-Pre preamps in some Yamaha gear are very nice. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MG06/ I think that’s their cheapest currently available mixer that has them. The Mic/Line channels with the Neutrik connections have the D-Pres, I’m not sure about the stereo channels on 3/4 and 5/6.
