As an update, my wife and I got to watch all four take their first flight and leave the nest! What an amazing thing to watch unfold. There was one runt that took an extra day to leave, and it was incredible to watch the mom and dad come and try to motivate the fella, as well as go and check on the siblings that were now in a nearby tree. Many other finches even arrived out of nowhere and it was as if they were there in support. Felt like the literal embodiment of “it takes a village” right there in a little community of birds.

Swallows seen at work from my office. 
They nest every year in the smokers shed, and right now the new ones are doing air acrobatics outside my window!
(Very bad images, I know! They are impossible to phorograph with my phone! Last one is a rare snap of them sitting still for a moment.)

I don’t have a picture yet, but I’ve been fascinated by a mocking bird that perches on a tree outside my window. They start up at night at about 10pm, and its just incredible that one bird can make so many sounds! I need to record it.
It does about 20 different calls, and even does sirens, and the sound of a vehicle backing up. Truly amazing creatures.

The gulls were making even more noise than usual at my workplace today. They hatch on the roof, and it turned out today was the day the baby gulls were leaving (or being thrown out of) the nest.
These two was kind of lost and seemed to have decided that right in front of the entrace to the building was a great place to rest. (I left the other way not to distrub them, but hope they manage to find a better survival strategy soon.)

Yeah, at that age you can train them to eat out of your hand, apparently

My grandma used to feed the Robins in the garden out her hand. I think with patience and familiarity any Robin will do it.

My friend feeds Robins and Blackbirds.
I don’t have a photo of it but when I visited they popped some mealworms in my hand and the Robin flew straight to my hand.

A small fee in way of a chip and all was good.
After a long time we finally have gangs of sparrows visiting us and a couple of Dunnocks help during the cleanup.

I love dunnocks. Where the house sparrows are quite easily alarmed, the dunnocks just carry on, all calm. Slow and steady. My kind of bird.

Their precise beaks and ability to nip in and out the hedge bottoms seemingly not giving a bugger. Great birds.
Aside; I was parked up in a rural lay-by and a Robin landed on the van’s door mirror then proceeded to knock 7 bells out of it’s reflection.
Many times during another job I’d be on hands and knees digging holes to look up at a Robin stood waiting for me to unearth some good Robin food. During winter if I see a load of dead leaves I’ll kick some aside knowing a Robin will be watching.
First up is ‘Baldrick’ taken with a phone. Poor bugger probably had feather mite.
Second one is just hanging out at some stables.
