Shouldn’t the question be what are the best effects for dub chords vs synths? I think the effects matter way more than the actual synth sound going into them.

For my dubbed ears, it’s the quality and sophistication of the filters (and their application) more than that of the FX.

Waldorf Iridium (Core). My absolute favourite for dub chords. From lush and rich to glassy to highly modulated and noisy. High dynamic range, many filter choices, great modulation and very capable FX. Check out my soundcloud for examples. They are almost all from Iridium, then sampled into Tonverk.

Everything goes through the FX track (3x SY Raw tracks, reverb, delay). There’s a bit of nitty gritty going in the filtering department:
The synth tracks are in band pass mode, with some positive envelope modulation. Reverb and delay are shelved (high pass to remove bass, low pass to remove top end sheen). The FX track filter is set to double notch for that phaser vibe. Its frequency is p-locked on certain steps, and filter mode is p-locked to band pass on certain steps. There’s also some filter pan modulation going on. And reverb time is p-locked on certain steps, from ultra-long to short.
