For me 2 of the best synths for dub techno chords are still Access Virus and Waldorf Micro Q. When I listen back to my early recordings, they still sound great. I used it in nearly every track back then. Access Virus also doubled for a great filter on drums etc. You can hear it in my Early Reflections album, beside the Yamaha FS1R for fm sounds and novation drumstation and Akai MPC2000xl

Recently, as a result of most things being -packed away, I’ve been using ambient field recordsings to create the tones and varying grit. If you get a recording then hit some harmonics with the resonance on an eq, you can get it tuned well accross a sampler, play chords etc.
It’s all in the processing tbh, any synth as good as any other synth

I vote access virus because of all the modulation you can do to the filter (s). For a bog standard saw triad, you can use about anything.
