BEST SOFTWARE SEQUENCER for Vintage Hardware Synths with good support?

Soundrider, are you saying that if I lay down an audio guitar track (my playing), that Cubase could copy the articulation of it? In such a case, I could create something in either the Hapax (then recorded/transferred to Cubase) or directly on Cubase, and a groove quantization pattern after the fact? I assume it would do this to a midi file.

That could be great. Just trying to get a sense of the workflow.

Audio to MIDI can be done in Cubase and in Ableton

Here - as proof of concept - a short demonstration of a singers voice converted to MIDI pitches and velocities in Cubase:

This should extract the basic articulations as MIDI information at least.

There seems to be a similar approach for groove copy&paste as I know it from Ableton, but I’m not sure it works the same way. In the Cubase manual we find:

Ableton can do audio to MIDI conversion as well. Ableton provides “groove templates”, which can be created from audio/MIDI sections and then applied to entire tracks. Here an excerpt from the manual:

I can’t tell, if the results are good enough for your project and I expect, there will be some testing and tinkering necessary until you have a workflow, which matches your needs.

At least there are some tools …

Wow, SoundRider THANK YOU!!! I am truly into this and will report back soon –
