My samples are in various formats. AIF, WAV, 16bit, 24bit etc… nearly all are 44.1KHz.
The Transfer app is very slow, especially when converting samples.
What is the best software for doing large batch conversions?
Also, how will converting from 44.1KHz to 48KHz affect sample playback? Will they all be sped up and pitch shifted up by 10%-ish?
Thanks.

You sure it’s the conversion slowing it down ? Are you on the newest transfer, 1.8.10 ?

I haven’t tried 1.8.10 yet.
yep, it’s for every OS, check out the Download page.
I use it on mac all the time to squish mp3s but it can do almost every encoding with every config, it’s available for mac on homebrew too:

I’m currently going the other way (48 - 44.1) and I’m using Audacity.
It’s a little clunky, but it works.

+1 for Audacity too, its free and you can easily set up a macro and batch process folders of files, and yeah, its kinda clunky.
Adobe’s Audition is really fast and not clunky if you happen to be a creative cloud subscriber

I use Pro Audio converter (Mac) for work, but it also applies to this stuff. Not free, think I paid a tenner for it about 10 years ago. Its solid tho
I used Izotope RX 11 for batch conversions, works like a charm!
does it properly convert stereo to mono samples, by that I mean preserving the stereo field correctly for like say the DT1?
Haven’t done stereo to Mono, since I did it for M8 & D2, but this suggests it does? https://youtu.be/_99WCnPBGBU?si=AdFo5TeuhEPrxCdO

Do Audacity or Audition do auto sample chopping by transients or auto silence cropping?

Does RX11 have auto sample chopping by transients or auto silence cropping features?
Not sure about transients but yes to silence

I use Voxengo r8brain a lot for sample conversion, it’s free and easy to use.
