Every year this time I’m taken back by the charts popping up everywhere, especially the Boomkat charts - it just blows my mind how much new music I haven’t heard! And I consider myself someone who pays somewhat attention to the new stuff being released.

It’s fantastic though, an opportunity to discover a lot of great music. :slight_smile: I compiled a “top 10 records of 2013”-list a few days ago. Here it is.

Shout here to for Excavation too … But Haxan Cloak was just beaten to my top spot by Roly Porter’s ‘Life Cycle of a Massive Star’. Simply mind blowing. Others around the top would be BOC,Ae’s Exai, Holden, Four Tet & our own Daren Ager’s wonderful ‘De La Sol’

Going to have to check out the new Roly Porter.

His first record is staggeringly beautiful in parts (still listen to “Hessra”)

For me, the best new stuff has come from Sweden:

TM-404’s self-titled debut album is something out of this world, a future-retro hybrid between plastikman and basic channel, beautiful music!

Also, swedish duo Fishermen has delivered two stand-out EP’s, and I just got their debut album ‘Patterns and Paths’ recently, dark, gritty and full of detail, a delightful diversion from the ever-so-similar-sounding modern techno
