This is so cool. Could get a million samples out of this.

Really fantastic imo!

Kinda similiar hybrid jazz tip; one of my fav albums of the year is Makaya Mccraven - In these Times.

Other immediate favorites are Four Tet’s live album

and Marina Herlop‘s album.

And the Two Shell ep

Many thanks for this recommendation, the Four Tet Live at Alexandra Palace hit me at just the right time here. I love hearing his great melodies in new settings, and re-hearing his work with samples has inspired yet another fresh turn with the Digitakt, a box that I always seem to be still growing into…

I haven’t listened to a lot of brand new music this year but appreciate the recs above and elsewhere—Elektronauts has been a great source for recommendations … as starting to play electronic music has me discovering and rediscovering so much music with fresh ears…

This year I kept coming back to Eprom- Syntheism

after a random YouTube recommendation

Also recently have been really digging the sounds of Femtanyl

April Mixtape 3

made me a Snow Strippers fan

Also was constantly replaying:

Rookies Bustle

Desire, I want to turn in to you

Metamorphose

Scarin the hoes

SAVED!

10000 gecs

Editing on mobile is hard. I’m stupid with posting so I ended up just linking the first/title track of most of these.

Sadly eprom link I just can’t get to work.

That Caroline Polachek album is great!

Agreed, the Caroline Polachek album was my favorite release of the year by far. I played it a ton. Also really love the Overmono album.

Few faves from this year -

Bit rinsed now but definitely my club/festival tune of the year. Always got a great crowd reaction and lots of fun

Not released in 2023 but came back to this album a lot this year, so much depth to it. Big fan of everything Tom Boogizm/Michael J Blood/Rat Heart does.

Some belters on yco this year

Enjoyed all these LPs

These were probably my two most played tunes though

I really love Jeff Mills’ Metropolis Metropolis album from this year.

I love that it’s not techno but… techno “adjacent”

The whole thing sounds quite demented which I thoroughly enjoy.

is this a re-do of the older one he produced ?

Yep - a total re-do!

A revisit to the film, not to his older soundtrack - this is all fresh music

For me the best release, so deep. Atmo, sound design and Structure is just top.
