Best Mixer for Live PA with Elektrons

I currently use an old Mackie 1202. I like it, it’s fine. Just curious what other forum members like to use for thier live PA performances

a frosted glass cube, obviously.

Allen & Heath Zed 14… Great sounding moderate price good routing options… USB 1.0 out at 16 bit (who cares)… Drum roll… Nice long throw faders… One drawback it does have a big footprint and wish the 2 Aux pre sends were switchable to Aux post…

Octatrack?

I suppose it all depends on how expansive your live rig is. I recently got Boss KM-60 and am loving it. Though it’s limited in the EQ section, its EQ still sounds VERY good. It’s surprisingly flexible with send/return for each channel as well as having a master send return. I LOVE the rotary controls. I was going to use it as a summing mixer for the MD, and may still do so, but tonight I was jamming the MD and SammichSID through it and now really want to use it as a live PA mixer. The rotary controls make it feel like a DJ mixer without all the limitations of that type of mixer. It’s got mojo and the thing is sweet.

Anyway, it might not be for everyone but just thought I’d throw in my two cents.

1202 all the way…

many years ago I use to use the CR1604

Mackie 1402 does the job well here -

Yamaha DMP7
Motor faders + early digital.
Has a sound like nothing else.

Ive been using this analog Yamaha mixer that has compression and an aux. I use the aux send to sample on the OT.

Yamaha MG102C

using zed 14 as well . i’m going to use it live for the first time in a month .
i agree with everything cosmosuave wrote exept i wish the two aux POST send were switchable to aux PRE .

One day I am gonna open up the mixxer and am quite sure it can be modded to config the aux sends… I will post the mod at some point if it is doable…

cool .

I’ve been wanting the slightly larger version of your mixer, the MG166cx, for some time! Highly recommend people to check these out for reliable live use, Yamaha gear is always made to last.
Currently using an old mixer from the Japanese guitar company Aria. Dirty pres on every channel and a built in spring reverb, gives anything it takes a very charming (but specific) dirty 70s tone. It makes instruments with modern digital sheen (like a machinedrum) sound like the most retro gear ever made
