I really dig the Faderfox pc12 + mx 12 + troso t1 combo to controll my syntakt
And that opens up some funny possibilities with the sequencer and track triggers as punch in FX, if you are interested in the “how”:

I have controllers, I have options but I found freedom using ableton and its macros with the Midi fighter twister with the 16 macro script so each track I select I get 16 macros that automatically update on track select, I create different macro templates and check which ones work for me. I love recording automations per clip on the fly.
I’ve used a LCXL for a long time (not the new one, don’t like encoders) but recently picked up an Akai Midimix. The faders are shorter, but the space with buttons above them means they feel more perform-able without cramping the pots, and the pots have slightly less resistance than the LCXL which I find better for performance (the LCXL’s more resistant ones are great for sound design and finding little sweet spots).
