Best Mac Sound/Sample Browser?

Hi All!

So, I’m trying to find a good way to preview samples to drop into Transfer or OT Disk Mode and Finder kind of sucks for this task.

I’ve searched the forum, but I’m all I’m getting are false positives for results.

I’ve looked at Sononym, but for $99 I’m not sure if it’s worth it (I waited too long for their Black Friday special), and I’m not sure it will do exactly what I want it to. I know there is a trial period, I just haven’t taken the plunge on that yet.

Can anyone help with a workflow for previewing my millions of samples and then getting them to my machines?

Ideally, I could preview the samples, mark my favorites, and then dump them directly into Transfer or OT without having to massively rearrange my file structure.

Any help is welcome! Thanks in advance, Elekronauts!

Oh! I do own Ableton Live 9, is it possible to use the built in browser for this (drag and drop into Transfer)?

its probably quicker to try drag and drop from ableton yourself than wait for a response on a forum…

i tried audiofinder a while ago, it seemed good.

I have and dig Sononym. It makes organizing and browsing samples a breeze. If the price is an issue, you could load all your samples into iTunes, give them a unique genre name like “samples” so you can pull them up instantly and exclude your regular music files. You can even tag them and add BPMs manually in iTunes but this would be extremely tedious if you have a large library.

This is the best that I have used & the developer releases regular updates. https://audiohelperproject.com/products/samplism/
