Uli is hiring a lot of some good people from around the world and when they are starting to work as an experts group with all those resources they could easily blow off a lot of sales from other manufacturers.
some modifications here and there on the rd8/rd9 boards, separate them and it’s done.
put the deepmind brain behind this and it will deliver.
I don’t know too much about their hardware sequencers than the one on my BOddy (we are speculation on a software/touchscreen based device) but I can say from experience that they came from know where with the X32 when that was launched (as the software is spot on and very complex) and the same with the DM12, no real analogue synth pedigree and strait in with a very good synth that was game changing at the price point.
They have a lot of very good software engineers, probably a lot more than AKAI…and they stated their interest in some of the (Maschine?) coders that NI made redundant…
1988 date works for an MPC
Touchscreen? Immediately lost my interest.
No guarantee at all that is it what it is, we are all just having fun speculating. The pictures of Behringer ARP 2600 also have that very distinct wedge shape and a lot of buttons/lights…so could be that with a filter!
Touchscreen was ok on pioneer sp16 but it still needs a good ui / interface design.
My iPhone has a decent ui but it can still be an annoying piece of shit sometimes.
And it can always become an expensive thing to replace .
i think with the Deepminds WiFi approach in combination with apple, they won’t build their own screen I guess.
if someone’s tingling with a dirt cheap rd8/9 board to see what modulation spots are possible and has the capability of Behringers production skills, I would love to see a sick drum machine type of thing
Wasn’t he a clone of Francis Behcon?
I have some clues…

on this website in the mixer section there is no picture for digital mixers section.
Aslo, Thomann lead again…
When searching for Brhringer it shows behringer 28 products in digital mixers but when you click on it the list with results has only 27 positions. So, I’m thnking there is one digital mixer from behringer hidden. This might be it, the successor to X32 and more…
Sound modules catergory for behringer also suggest 8 products but only 7 shown after clicking.
Fucking hell, Thomann. You’d have thought they’d have fired that intern after the Digitone Keys fuck up haha
Or they think people have better things to do than scour their website.
The people that think that should be fired
Sometimes people are given permission to intentionally leak. Its free promotion.
We did it all the time at my co. We would “leak” to Kotaku
“Peter Grandl (Amazona) and Hans Thomann already know the secret. Both of them were recently with Uli at the Chinese factory. And Peter has hinted that in a shielded area were very special products about which he is not allowed to tell anything yet. :-)”
Retailers nd magazines know about things in advance all the time.
A lot of negotiations go on in advance,
Eg , games don’t appear on the eye level shelves out of the goodness of the game store , shelf positioning is paid for by publishers in advance, store exclusives are great adverts.
I’m sure the same goes for advert positions on Thomann website or other big name sites, Thomann getting 1st shipments is likely to be more than them just being friends.

My guess: it’ll be an integrated mixer/audio interface/FX box.
(Exactly the kind of thing a lot of people have been asking Elektron for.)
After all, Behringer/Klark/TC make all of those things already.
Amazona.de (Peter Grandl) belongs to Thomann, btw…

the 30 years in the making thing is throwing people off, but alls I’m gonna say is that it’s a stand alone thingy that competes with ableton live
