Crazy that the designer of the original machine, who has been asked his opinion of the Behringer version of his original machine, should face any kind of criticism for expressing the way he feels. He should absolutely be entitled to his opinion and be allowed to express that.
Some people are more entitled than others nowadays. He doesnt fit the mould.
Just watched video, that UI is completely lifted from Elektron boxes, no shame.
I am surprised people are willing to buy these products.
and why not?
Because they are not bad and the are cheap. I can understand that. What I cannot understand is that B. is really copying the UI almost 1:1 even with the submenues⦠that is really lame.

Even down to the lock to indicate factory sounds.

Wow. I am waiting for the ā+Driveā
Edit:
No words.
I donāt know, knowing that itās copy of original, and listening to story of a creator of Linn drum on YouTube these days, kinda leaves a bad taste in my mouth
If it can be copied, it will be copied.
But if someone else is the trendsetter, it will be measured by them:

This pattern info should be at the top⦠do it the elektron way!!!
Edit: they also messed with the parameter order⦠oh no.
I remember back in 1990,when Serbia was under sanctions and closed borders, we couldnāt have original brands, but instead we had crap copies made to look like originals.
Mike(nike), abidas(adidas) , and so on. Poor quality but resemblance was there
Maybe i just have trauma from my past
And no different to others that have copied this in software plugin format either Aly James Vprom, GForce Icondrum just 2 examples.
Roger Linn didnāt want to get involved in recreating his masterpiece, so Behringer have and also moved it forward too.
Looking forward to receiving mine shortly, sounds good on the Youtube videoās so far.
Its a shame your 40 years too late
This is sadly somewhat fitting as we enter the age of AI driven marketing and design ā ācrap copies made to look like originalsā is likely to be the default moving forwardā¦
excited for the FGYTWUK Drum Computer Sequencer I_innDrumb USB MIDI Elektronauts Gearspace 1/4" 12-Output 5v Music Rhythm Workstation
Personally I was very excited about this machine, but I realized that at the end itās a sample player. Yes, it have a analog filters, etc etc⦠But I have enough machines ( and you have a incredible world to explore with sampler from mars collection, itās enough). Drum machines were my favourite gear but Iām tired of it. Another sample player? Another analog recreation? Thanks to Mr Linn too because his words are perfect. So, no more drum machines for me. I was also expecting to buy the CR78 clone but nahā¦
they should have sent one to Elektron and asked them how they like itā¦
I remember when i was in a museum in Paris on a exhibition on Van Gogh paintings (i am a traditional painter) and seeing them for the first time after learning about the artist and all his struggles and hard life he had at uni, and i was standing in front of one of the paintings, focused and in awe, all of the sudden it started smelling of a fish. In my mind i was blown away that this impression was so strong that i could smell the history and struggles he went through and created this beautiful piece.
After deciding to move on i realised there was a nice restaurant near by serving fish meals, and started laughing about it.
Somehow having the original instrument and history behind it itās kinda cool. Thinking about how some musicians used these machines to create music, maybe i am just being āromanticā.
I wish Behringer invest all their power and talent into creating new innovative and interesting instruments for new generation
Van Gogh couldnt afford fish. He ate mostly potatoes home grown he was so poor.
In my mind fish was connected to a decay, poor conditions, Harbour and heavy drinking
Gotcha. Im a big oil painter too mostly Singer Sargent stuff. But the impressionists are my favourite in general.
Thanks for actually posting something on-topic.
