It was a nice demo….

It’s not too sophisticated in terms of editing/sequencing, but it looks extremely fun to use. I like having 24 sounds at your fingertips along with the channel mixing controls, and it sounds nice and beefy. Love all the i/o as well.

The DMX is my favourite drum machine of all times.

never tried to play one IRL but I really like the sounds!
I got a great software version of the DMX but the playability on the hardware looks like a big plus.

Since the original Oberheim is absolutely out of reach, I think I’m gonna get this sometime in the future.

It isn’t as beautiful looking as the original one but I guess Uli doesn’t care too much about that.

The UI graphics style on the display reminds me of something very familiar….

The Behringer LM drum?

is there any sample editing possible?

I had a DMX in the 80s when I was a teenager. Used it to program beats into it that I would then practice along with on acoustic drums. Of course I sold it for a much smaller, lighter, flexible Boss drum machine for my use case when those came along. Boy do I wish I still had it now tho :sob: Am I interested in buying this thing? Nope.

That Elektron UI lolz…

Crazy! Not my cup of tea (OG and clone).
If they go for an SP 1200 one day - I am in!

Looks like just tune, direction, start, end, and loop on/off plus a distortion parameter of some kind. Definitely for jamming rather than sound design.

I have absolutely no idea how it differs from Lm-drum. To me, it seems exactly the same feature wise.

Saw quite a cool video yesterday of someone jamming on Lmdrum.

It is weird how they rather clone two similar sampling drum machines than create one ultimate box based on their research with improved functionality. Yeah, they did seem to improve some, but the fact that they are two different machines puzzles me.

there are some differences in the sound i think and in the layout of controls.

that would have been nice, yes. also the interface could have been approached more openly like this

This is commercial thinking. Typical Behringer customers want the OG but don’t want to, or can, spend the money

maybe the build it into the tr-1000 clone they are working on

Anybody who would just consider the device a sampler?
(Wasn’t able to spot sampling time - like 5 min on the Behringer Linn?)

Does it offer step-probability (I guess the answer is no?)

Cheers!

There are no comparisons yet. I am also very interested in this or the linndrum clone. Willing to wait for Starsky Carr to demo it so he can compare it to Linndrum, which I am sure he will.
