Because just calling it “A” wouldn’t make sense, since it has the Keyboard + Sequencer.
Now if only their Monotribe thing can get a release date. Kinda regret selling my Monotribe.
i’m a little embarrassed to admit that i’m waiting for that dfam clone ngl
Hopefully this comes along around the same time they release the AKS Mini.
This has been beta-tested by them.
Can’t expect any better sadly.
Lol, I never noticed it’s just a print. ![]()
Ok, I felt it was kinda weird to put such an expensive pot on such a mini synth, but kinda cool also…
Anyways, interesting that B went for the Bolca format. Their announced line up of mini synths would have fit the Boutique format much better…
Volcas are all pretty playable (the Volca FM is an outlier in this regard) and quite capable for mini synths, too, what makes them really cool synths. I’ll certainly have a little jam in the local music store when/if they’ll have the Bolcas.
That’s the one I’m looking forward to. Have any of their Volcalikes actually made it to stores yet?
That’s a fucking terrible demo. It’s literally the one synth where people DO want to hear atonal beeps and boops and Sea Devils from but we get trance-by-numbers that’s gives no insight into that AKS idiosyncrasies. I know its not the full machine but its not helping the “Behringer has only one synth that they just rebadge” criticism.
What’s the point of an EMS synth without pin matrix? Or does it have hidden patching possibilities?
The Behringer Minis often confuse me because they deviate from the most notable characteristics of the synths that they’re ‘inspired’ by. And in general, three note paraphony doesn’t seem very useful - I’d prefer they just focused on monosynths in this format instead. And it looks like this one doesn’t even have a monophonic mode, based on the front panel? And even if it did, you don’t get individual control over the waveform and frequency of each oscillator? Weird stuff.
When Behringer leaked this in mid May ( post ), that leak also showed the VCX 3. That’s what you need for the pin matrix.
Looks like the AKS Mini has some flexibility in assigning the joystick controls and perhap LFOs.
Behringer has released some Minis around the time of larger versions.
that guy doing the demo may be the least authentic or believable person ive ever seen on camera
Thanks. The VCX3 makes sense, but the Mini AKS feels like an Elektron with no sequencer…
The original VCS 3 has no sequencer, and this Mini does. So maybe the analogy apropos is an Elektron with only a pin matrix. Except that would probably get a lot of attention.
I think this new thing should be taken for what it is without the stray inferences Behringer is making.
The PHARA-O Mini got really attacked for all the stray inferences, but in reality it’s a pretty fun $100 synth.
Not sure yet about this one, but maybe it’s similar.
That’s Bartek. He is totally himself. Watch any of his other videos.
By the way, he loves the Wave synth, and uses it as a controller, all the time.
He’s also got real key-board chops, and likes certain older styles which he can improvise all day long. Hence the way this mini synth has been presented here. I’d expect a demo with Patrick to hit in the week.
EDIT : Fixed typos.
Their Mission Statement.
it’s always weird when the person demoing the thing is “feeling it” too much ![]()
Right when I post in another forum that I´m cured from GAS…but oh, it´s just the mini thing…I could feel my heart jump, but since it´s not the AKS, heart rhythm returning to normal. ![]()
