Behringer : 40% (up to) off across the range

eBay will do that.

Not the people who can afford Moog One who complain, just a few people who want it in envy :see_no_evil:

Negativity rings louder

Still 60% overpriced

It wasn’t long go there was a thread about elektron gear dropping in prices soon after release

I’m sure people complained about the $100 rebate from elektron last month.
Complaints about how low the mk2’s were becoming 2nd hand

As always people do have a choice but I wonder how many have bought a legit model d instead of Behringer , or who (assuming the sound is right) will still buy legit tr808 over the behringer / acid lab / other analogue clones in 808
.
I wonder if people would prefer to pay the full price on their prescription drugs rather than purchase a legally made generic version ?

I get it , it’s the internet , I’m complaining about people complaining and everyone can do or type what they like.

It’s almost like we are unable to use our own opinions to define ourselves; the internet already full with every thought conceivable. Sometimes it feels like positions in arguments have their own momentum free of humanity. And we are left here to read what we would have wrote.

Maybe I shouldn’t wake n’ bake

If this lowers the cost of getting a modded klark teknik LA2A even further, I’ll be a happy camper

I just noticed something that makes me really happy - I seem to have developed some sort of natural “bullshit filter” that applies itself automatically to any thread containing the words “behringer” and/or “moog one”…

it makes me unable to read / show interest in about half of the comments… especially those ones were some random dude (assuming genders in 2018 is my extreme sport) goes on a tangent about “stealing designs”, the word ‘overpriced’ or any other form of ‘legal’/moral opinion piece disguised as ‘fact’. (feel like that word has lost its meaning a while ago)

I never knew the internet could be such a happy place.

(now, if I could activate that same filter for Donald Trump/Alt-Right related news… maybe “AfD” for Germany… hmmmm…)

I have a OG mini moog, however im still buying a boog and a Pro one as they are at the price or less of a midi interface for the old ones

So ppl buy this because its cheap though they Font really need IT? OK…

Decided awhile back not to buy any Behringer stuff. Each to their own but not a fan of his business practices. Plus I’m always hearing the mantra ’we sell cheap so that you benefit.’ Not in to that at all. I don’t believe it.

Where are you hearing this mantra? I haven’t heard it and Google wasn’t aware of this slogan.

That said, if something is cheap and decent quality, it does kind of benefit the buyer, don’t you think?

I think I read this on FB. Uli words.

There is a pretty long german interview on Amazona.de where Uli Behringer states that one of the reasons why he started his music instrument business was because he wanted to make instruments that “normal” people (your average joe) could afford.

Okay, well that doesn’t sound very offending to me.

Whatever Uli’s goals are (power to the people, money, make his dreams come true or just wash his name from the association with lowest quality gear), I find it good that there are amazing synths affordable now for people to start music.
I wouldn’t have started playing electronic music without Korg Volca series.

There was real innovation in Volca series, but there has been also some novelties from B, and I guess they developed some skills while cloning old synths. Plus it seems that with Pro One they are trying to offer more functionalities than the

I believe there will be only more and more people playing electronic music because gear is becoming so cheap.

Time to dust of the banjo, recorder, harmonica and organ.

Edit: octatrack stays in the mix of course :man_dancing:t2:

I wouldn’t have switched from guitar to synths if there hadn’t been Volcas.
Now I’m converting people around me with Teenage Engineering PO-12
Have a laugh at us, but we are legion !!

Not laughing, just personally feeling a move back to playing instruments more enjoyable. Change is the only constant

Is it really fair to compare the work of mr Tatsuya Takahashi and TE people to what Behringer is doing with these clones?

Yes b/c the context obviously refers to the price point - He wouldnt have ever made the jump without them b/c they were cheap.
