somethings up at mono, cause the flyby backpack in this picture, is not the same one when you click on shop, seems like the picture is of a new one and when you press shop they switch to the old one

you can take the plastic stand off but ya.
I didn’t really have much time from city to city…mostly just on plane/train…in city at the gig…next plane/train (hence the wear and tear)
I always got compliments on the bag from other musicians at the shows.

Waterfield does nice backpacks but quite expensive

This is mine. After I send the first back (zipper problem) - the next is fine. I have this back pack for 4-5 years. Love it

how many liters is that one?
I have no idea. It carries my 15” laptop, mpc 1000 and some clothes. It is water proof and has foam packs to have a compact box.

+1 to both the Goruck GR1 and the Tom Bihn Synapse (25L) / Synik (30L). I’ve had a Synapse for almost 10 years, and I can’t say enough good things about them. If I had to buy a new one today, I’d be torn between another Synapse and a Synik.
Last year I picked up a GR1 because I wanted something that had an external laptop compartment, and I was able to get my hands on a limited-run collab version that doesn’t have any webbing on the outside (I’m not a fan of military styling). It’s an awesome bag for traveling with a laptop, and the boxy interior and clamshell opening make it really easy to transport gear, especially if you’re using cases for it.
You really can’t go wrong with any of them - they’re all spendy, but (according to the manufacturers, at least) they’re made by people who are getting paid well for skilled labor, and the quality for all of them is superb.

I have the Magma Solid Blaze 80 backpack and honestly it is amazing. It would fit two digi boxes without aditional protection (apart from the decksavers), but you should look into the bigger version 120.
The thing about these backpacks is that they are very close to being waterproof. I use them for travel all the time. They are also somehow soft and therefore comfortable, but have to admit are not the lightest. All the insides are very well paded and there are tons of compartments. The 80 in my opinion also look very stylish, if you like The Batman aesthetic.
Bonus thing is they are made of recycled plastic bottles.
A con is that they are not cheap.
You can find several videos about them on YT, and one vendor is Thomann.
I have the bigger cabin luggage size of this. It is very good, but not padded at all. The thing is super light and “indestructible” though. I got 30 years of waranty with mine. Only water repelant.
This bad boy can carry 2 OT with decksavers, 4 Digis for an octaphonic performance, or an unlimited number of Models for a decadent setup.
All of this under a heavy rain in a tropical storm.

nice bag, but these look like you’re carrying something you don’t want someone to try to take. I’ve had two extremely unsuccessful attempts to take samplers from me while I was out and about so these days I tend to go for the most unassuming bags

It’s a shameful indulgence, and I only bought it because I was doing a huge amount of travel for work, but the Peak Travel 45L really is very very good. Tons of compartments for organisation, really comfortable, sturdy, really lots of incredible quality of life features that you’d never know existed as possibilities if you didn’t have one including how it stands, opens etc.

that’s a good looking bag for sure, plus it doesn’t look like a Namm billboard on your back, but it’s pretty big… i just need to carry two digitakts/ macbook pro 14/ and headphones.

Choosing the right backpack is super important!
This xkcd hit home for me, because at the time it came out I had spent a week agonizing over which backpack to buy, but easily ordered a $2000 laptop in like 3 minutes.

It’s a hard decision! Some great suggestions in this thread so far… I don’t know if that makes it easier or harder though :))

I own the minimalist, but apparently they don’t make that model anymore. Mine has been going strong for 4 years through a lot of wear and tear
