Question: how easy is it to make an axoloti eurorack compatible? I mainly mean the gpio’s. For example a case like @darenager with next to the knobs a cv input jack that switches the knob to an cv input with attenuator. Would be nice.
For gate inputs very simple, just use a NPN transistor as a switch, for CV inputs there are a number of ways to do it depending on accuracy required it can be a bit trickier if you want v/oct with accurate tracking, you need to scale the voltages, ideas how to do this can be found online as it would be similar to Arduino/Teensy CV input circuitry.
Love this! Is it a standard enclosure that you drilled out?
Thanks for answering! Someday i’ll dive into this world and build my ideas. Although for now it seems too time-consuming.
I went the easy route will use it to play around with sound ideas and as usb to midi merger with filter.
No it is made from (Dibond type signmaker) aluminium composite sheet for the top and bottom, the sides are L shaped extruded plastic like you find in home DIY stores, the back panel is a custom PCB I made, it is all held together with threaded pillars. The screen bezel is a piece of thin rubber with an old spare gameboy replacement screen lens cut down. The panel graphics are printed on a Brother label printer.
It wasn’t too difficult to make but a bit too time consuming cutting everything by hand, so next time I’d do something different.
It helps a lot to have a cnc router and a 3d printer in your basement!
I bet!
Build an Euxoloti.
i went yet easier route
this is my universal input device for everything.
works as drum pad, freatboard-style key pad, arpeggiator control surface, etc etc etc.
for MIDI controller with pots/encoders, i use either Novation Remote Zero SL, or Novation Launch Control, or simply Electribe 2 with Axoloti as MIDI processor.
Just checked Axoloti forum and seems to be gone - 503 Bad Gateway.
It’s apparently because the site disc space keep on filling up with backups and needs to be cleared periodically, and often isn’t as the Axoloti creator / site owner is unable to for unknown reasons.
Someone has made a backup of the site for reference purposes, particularly for finding patches and other useful information:
Thanks @DoS
There’s some discussion over at Lines (as the Axo forum is down so often) about a new Axoloti derivative board that’s being worked on:

Axoloti returns!
Ksoloti Core is a rework of the discontinued Axoloti Core board. Available now on Thonk.
Ksoloti aims for maximum compatibility with the original Axoloti, with some layout changes and added features.
Ksoloti is an environment for generating and processing digital audio. It can be a programmable virtual modular synthesizer, polysynth, drone box, sequencer, chord generator, multi effect, sample player, looper, granular sampler, MIDI generator/processor, CV or trigger generator, anything in between, and more.

Interesting development!
Hello everyone !
I use an Axoloti since 2 or 3 years to generate random clocks. Today I tried to load a patch on it and it doesn’t work anymore. When I upload a patch with “upload to internal flash” command, I have two messages : “Generate code complete” and then “Disconnect Request” and I have to unplugged it and plugged it again to get the device beeing seen again on the editor.
Anyone knows what happen ? Thank you
My Ksoloti (with K-control mini board) just arrived… next few days will be testing my old axoloti patches.
