Autumnal album recommendations

I cant really put my finger on what this actually is, i just know it when i hear it.

“This is sonic autumn”

Ive got a list of autumn albums, to kick things off.

  1. Fionn Regan “The End of History”
  2. Zero 7 “When it Falls”
  3. Molasses “A Slow Messe”
  4. Datachi “System”
  5. Tanakh “Ardent Fevers”

There are a few songs here and there- but those albums always get me hungry to smell the burning dust stacked on the heater from months of non-use

For me, autumn vibes shift heavily into jazz. One album that really hits the spot is Billie Holiday’s Solitude album.

Sounds “springy” to me lol.

Probably because i used to listen to “kind of blue” when riding my bike back in the day lol

Thanks for sharing

For autumn and winter jazz it’s gotta be Vince Guaraldi.

Yeah, Kind of Blue doesn’t really have an autumn vibe.

I’m glad you posted this topic because I’ve been wanting to talk to anyone who will listen about this album and specifically how it relates to season. I suppose technically it is not an autumn album as it is best listened to the very day you feel the first inkling of fall smuggle itself in to the end of summer air. I’ve been trying to pinpoint the exact moment I feel it since about August 20th preparing to pull this record out. There is just something about the recording that feels like the transition from summer to fall.

As we settle into the reality that summer is over and migrate inside I like to play a lot of Bob Dylan and Van Morrison.

Last fall I really enjoyed Billy Strings highway prayers. Lots of great songs on there!

Mellow is the mood I guess!

This one of course. (or the whole discography for that matter, but this one has it in the title)
