Automatically assign recorder buffer to static machine

In this video Jonmakesbeats seems to automatically assign a recorder buffer to a static track. T1 is flex machine. The others are static machines. 6m55s he records into 1, then immediately without apparently doing anything he says “would you look at that it’s already populated itself on track 2”… How?

I assumed he pre assigned the corresponding recorder buffer to track 2 in advance and placed down a trig
