Auditioning Sounds on Analog Four

Hi again,

New user here - I have just rented the Analog Four from my local music store. I want to make sure it’s a good fit for me before purchasing. I am triggering it using a Novation Ultranova synth via MIDI cable.

How can I preview different sounds using the Ultranova keyboard? For instance, if I simply want to scroll through different sounds to listen to the basic patches or sounds?

If I press [Function] and the [Sound] I open the sound manager. There I can preview each of the sounds by pressing the A4 “key” buttons. But the sounds don’t change when triggered from my Ultranova. What am I doing wrong I wonder?

Make sure the ultranova midi channel matches the A4’s autochannel. You can find out which one is the autochannel via the A4’s midi settings. This should sort you out.

Thank you very much, Anfim!

No prob! Incidentally I googled your name to find out whether it referred to the keyboard or something else, and found out that there’s a old-school brand of chewing gum called Chiclets. This kind of blew my mind because I grew up in Barcelona and in Spanish and Catalan “chicle” or “chiclet” literally means chewing gum. They must have had a monopoly going on at some point and the name caught on, in a similar way to “kleenex”. But I had no idea they were a real gum until now.

Uh… what do they taste like? :joy:

They weren’t bad gum…it’s been many years since I tried them.

Actually, the name Chiclets is my cat’s name!

FYI …Chiclets is also slang for someone’s teeth that are big, square, white teeth.

As in ‘when he smiled he was showin off his chiclets’.
