Hello!
Hopefully this is a simple question with a simple answer, but I can’t seem to figure it out.
I’d like to be able to send my THRU track to some external FX using the CUE out. Since I’m playing via an external midi keyboard, I need to be on that track in midi mode for it to play. I have an external Midi stomp switch triggering the CUE ON/OFF of my THRU track, but it seems like it’s an either/or…either I’m in audio mode and can turn the CUE on and off, OR I’m in Midi mode and can play my synth.
Does anyone know a way to work around this? Is there a way to CUE while still in midi mode so I can send and stop sending to my external FX while I’m playing?

Could you target the Midi channel of the MIDI track(s) you wanna play with instead of the auto channel? So you could stay in audio tracks mode on the OT.
I think there is also a way to go to next/previous audio track sith Midi. That would allow you to select an audio track while staying in Midi tracks mode on the OT.

Hmm, targeted midi channel might be an option! I would still like the autochannel to work though, since I’m also sending the cue on/off signal via another midi controller pedal board (both going through a midi merge box -> OT).
I did figure out the next/previous audio track thing, so that does work. Midi NT 68 (previous) NT 69 (next). For Cue ON/OFF I’m using CC 51 with 0 = Off 1 = On
That’s all working fine, but I still have to use my hand to switch back and forth between Midi/Audio modes. Worst case scenario I guess would be only having control of one synth with my midi keyboard, which isn’t the end of the world, but kinda defeats the purpose of having 8 midi channels to send to various external synths.

I think I figured this out (yet to test it, but seems like it would work!)
I had my operations a little backwards. Instead of going into the Audio mode and playing midi through there, I can stay in Midi mode, set all of the audio channels that I want to be able to Cue to a single channel, then set my foot triggers to that channel. As far as I know I “should” be able to send Midi messages to the Audio channels while still in Midi mode.
We’ll see if this works. Progress!
