Audio interface

Hi, i want to record the output from my MD UW in Ableton. Can you recommend me some audio interfaces < EUR300,-? Many thanks.

novation audiohub is the loudest interface i have used recently and is a really simple device but you would need 1/4 jack to rca cables. now i’m using a akai pro eie and i like it though its far quiter than the novation.

The new range of Behringer interfaces sound excellent and are dirt cheap.

I don’t want to hijack this thread, but does someone have experience with the Iconnect Audio4+ interface? The capabilities seem great, but I can’t find many users saying what they think of it…

Tascam are blowing out the UH-7000 usb- which is the DA, DAC,B urr-Brown PCM4220 ADC, PCM1795 DAC from the DA-3000 recorder (DSD)
I got my mine, which will be landing soon from the us, for $250 second hand.
I have high hopes for this giant killer sound card, which apparently blows the UAD apollo and apogee out of the water; and competes with the halo metric and other high end audio cards.

if the miyo was not currently sold out i would have purchased this new card https://gomiyo.com/products/miyo

I use one. It has some great features and it doesn’t crash all the time like my Focusrite Forte. It can do anything you want and more. Which is also what I don’t like about it. The software has so many routings and settings, I sometimes lose track. The sound quality is good, but not great. Like a Forte, or Duet. I can recommend it if you’re looking for a device that can do it all. I wouldn’t recommend it if you want the best possible sound.

Thanks, @reluct. That was exactly the kind of info I was looking for.

That Tascam UH-7000 looks like a beast! Shame it doesn’t work with iOS, woulda been a nice frontend for my iPad

444€ @ thomann - very competitive price if the conversion is “mastering grade”!

Only missing an ADAT input for my midas…

I’ll update this page later in the week when I Receive it and provide a little review on the sound quality
Hopefully it’ll have a 3D depth and hd transparent sound

Studio grade converters Haven’t really reached the iPad
Or have they?

Maybe the Miyo works on the iPad ?

The RME Babyface Pro works fine with iOS in USB2 class compliant mode.

Studio grade conversion is plentily available, but top tier level, especially with this price point, not so much.

This is a great interface. Really like the build quality and sound, really simple, no fuss. Though we’re talking double your budget here: http://www.thomann.de/gb/rme_babyface_pro.htm

I think this will be my next interface. Really portable too.

Indeed. Hence my earlier recommendation to get one of the more recent UMC Behringer units.

Hi, thanks @ everyone for your feedback! Appreciate it.

Bradley good question, I have a Xone 42 dj mixer. So if it is conveinient i could route the outputs from the MD (bass drum, snares and others) to the Xone and then connect the record out of the Xone to an audio interface. But i don’t know if an audio interface with multiple inputs will give me better results.

I’d agree with @reluct regarding the iConnect Audio 4+
Flawless so far. No crashes. Can be routed in every way imaginable - including using two computers or doing audio via usb from your iOS devices.

Some real good tutorial videos for it by the company on youtube too.

Thanks @spacetravelmadeeasy. I have been considering getting one and I think I just might go for it now…

IME experience the Steinberg UR series is the best budget interface, specially in windows where the quality of ASIo drivers is very important. the UR outperforms the competition in driver performance and stability.

On Mac Motu and Focusrite are also good options.

Tascam UH-7000, landed yesterday and after the set up period - the usual install, clicks and clacks and understanding the preamp

i am very impressed with the dac, da, preamp and the transparency
pretty interesting that this is the first audio card where the monomachien actually sounds better than usual .
The preamp is really lovely and overall its a nice clear and 3d sound
like a studio i think.
id agree with everything tape op said in this review below - namely that the preamps sound pretty warm but clearish ala a neve

Impressive! However the lack of an ADAT input and the fact that I cannot use it with iOS are showstopping issues for me. I’ll be sure to recommend it to anyone who just needs a stellar sounding 2ch audio interface though!

hi guys, what do you think about this two audio interfaces: UAD Apollo twin and apogee duet? thanks in advance. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
