Attn: DSI Tempest Owners - Request to Fix Tempest

Guys / Gals,

For those of you who own a Tempest, there is currently a petition that has been created at Change.org for a request to fix a number of outstanding bugs in the Tempest.

There were promises to address some of these bugs while the OS was in beta (for 2+ years), but, unfortunately, they were never fixed.

For a list of bugs and also to sign this petition, please head over to the following link and sign the petition:

Cheers,

Jesus, I thought that pad name bug was due to my retardedness. Petition time.

Not sure if this will do any good but what do we have to lose? Hoping to get as many signatures as possible, so please spread the word if you can.

haha I just saw this on the Facebook group Synthesizer Freaks and was making a post here, but then I saw your post in the background

Good luck Tempest owners!!! Reading about these bugs makes me appreciate my A4 even more!

600 signatures strong and counting.

DSI has acknowledged the petition - the more signatures from Tempest owners, the better.

If you have a spare moment, please head over to Change.org and add your name. It takes two seconds.

Cheers,

They acknowledged it, gave a detailed response to all the points made, and categorically stated that the petition would not speed them up in addressing the known bugs in the tempest.

Yup, instead Dave Smith has been busy rubbing shoulders with other companies and creating hybrid instruments. Either way it doesn’t bother me because I know I won’t be buying a DSI product in the foreseeable future or maybe ever again. The veil has been lifted…there is nothing special about DSI instruments.

While I don’t own, nor plan on owning a DSI instrument in light of this, can I sign it anyway in support of the people?

(Yeah…him in the pioneer toyazz video was kind of cringe inducing).

That’s true, but there’s a little bit more to it than that at this point.

good news on synthtopia

Tempest update in the works

Big thumbs up to Roger, still a bit iffy from DSI to be honest but potentially some good news.

I always liked my Tempest when I had it. Sure it had some quirks but nothing compared to dealing with the OT! Miss the Tempest actually.

and thumbs up for all those who supported the petition

Deleted my other post cause it was stoopid.

Timeline sorta goes like this

We have made support tickets outlining confirmed bugs

We have asked nicely as to when and what will be fixed.

We have been professional in our waiting

We have been firm but polite in our correspondences .

Some have lost patience and sold, some have held on

Carrots have been dangled as to fixes and time frames.

Frustrations have seen less than polite threads and discussions

DSI bowed out of said forum, with only a select few in communication.

Out right dismay from many. users

…

…

…

Petition started and VERY well supported

Dismissal from DSI.

Support for petition off the charts as far as % go.

Defiant and hubris ridden reply from DSI

Roger involved, some extra weight being shoved

Some action pending.

why you bring up all those “old stories”?
isn’t it just great, something is happening now?

(sorry, maybe i just don’t understand it )

Timeline for those who havent followed it, okay?

BTW I’m the one that pushed contacting RL (though it wasnt me who actually did it). Which seems to be an important catalyst in this matter.

NOTHING has happened, just words, just like my post above
and we have heard words before, but nothing happened.
I think this says it all.
“Actions speak louder than words”

Give up dudes.

Dave licks his lips and thinks “Ideal time for a more powerful mk 2 unit after this minor bug fix update maybe with pioneer fx”.

Congratulations on forcing there hand tho!! Unreal it’s taken this for bugs to be reckognised. Seems roger is the spanner in the works. Fair play

I also miss the tempest. The machine itself had Had a high quality instrument feel. With elektron I’m reminded to go gentle on knobs and that you could smudge or chip the analogue series paint by looking at it. But There’s no contest when it comes to supporting the machines. As the latest updates have shown.

Edit - Actually a bit of strange coincidence the tempest team hold there hands up now, to coincide with the savage rytm update init.

Cheers
