is it possible to assign different samples in chromatic mode so every trig has a different sample? so you can “play” different samples instead of diffeferent tunes?
No, but that would sure be a cool feature.
There’s surely a way to make this work- I know you can adjust samples as a parameter on the DT- there’s surely a CC parameter to adjust this. I know Max for Live has a device to convert note to CC. To do this as pure hardware setup, perhaps a midi processor. So, at this point- you just need a way to activate the voice but while only adjusting the CC in lieu of the note data.
Perhaps you’ll be fine with just sending the CC- but surely there’s a way to accomplish this
I’ve been asking a similar question. I’d like to be able to control the DT w/ SP-1200 and only trigger certain notes that correlate to those assigned to the SP’s drum triggers. The SP’s midi notes are fixed and cannot be changed due to its age and lack of OS update from 20+ years ago.
Be great if the DT had a customization option on future updates to assign MIDI note number so as to build a Key Group as you would with a MIDI rack sampler like S950, EMAX or EPS16. Maybe call it “Rack Sampler” mode.
Different samples than the 8 trig keys play when not it chromatic mode?
A workaround could be to use “sample locks” locked to non track default samples in your patterns sequence, thereby allowing the track default samples to be played with the trig keys, which would be different than the ones being played by your pattern…
