If it were ā€œsample-basedā€, it wouldnā€™t be a Arturia Something-Freak?

(Edit: To clarify, I believe the article doesnā€™t get it right and it will be synth-based with support for samples.)

They probably take what theyā€™ve done on the Micro and MiniFreak and put that into a drum machine. So the oscillator types will likely be drum specific.

I wish they would have done a little freakier designā€¦ or just drop the whole freak thingā€¦ it is kind of corny, however at least put graffiti over it or something.

Seems to finally be a groovebox from Arturia. Editing part of controls seems to be inspired by Elektron, sequencer/pads part by MC-707 and touch pad section by Freaks. IMO it will have multiple machines, lack of mod matrix section suggest, it might be limited than in the Freak synths and big thumbs up for sampling capability (and what seems to be integrated microphone above tempo knob). It could be very interesting machine.

But who knows whatā€™ll change , Iā€™d expect that xy can be assignable to parameters ā€¦ default being filter and resonance :joy:

Anybody know the reason they would have two aux outputs in addition to L/R and headphone outputs?

My speculation would be that you could send assign 2 mono signals or 1 stereo signal to those aux outputs.

Yeah it likely is, itā€™s just not represented on the panel. This will be multitimbral, I guess 8 parts, so this means it would need 8 separate mod matrixes, which surely needs quite some cpu power. I obviously could be completely wrong :slight_smile:
