Arturia AudioFuse 16 Rig

Maybe the way I put it was confusing.

You cannot MIDI map the mixer strips directly. Instead, you can organize them into banks, and you can swap the active bank. You can MIDI map the different strips in the active bank.

So if you have 32 mixer channels, you can split them up into 4 banks of 8 channels.

You then get 8 MIDI-mappable mixer strips, and you can switch which of the 4 banks are controlled by the 8 mixer strips.

But you cannot say via MIDI for example to “switch to bank 3”. You can only say " switch to the previous bank" or “switch to the next bank”, without knowing which bank is active.

It’s very limiting.

hm, okay…i see, it’s constantly determining what’s controlled by choice of the currently selected ‘bank’ that’s replicated on the 16rig’s screen… strange setup they’ve built in to have it work like that. i’ve already got one on the way so i’m going to have to test it out on my system & see if i can work with that or configure things to operate within those boundaries.

Anyone know where I can buy replacement rack ears and bolts?

You should contact Arturia support.

I’ve owned the AudioFuse 16Rig on Windows 10 with Cubase Pro 14 for a couple of months now, and I am going to switch to an RME interface. The latency and driver stability just aren’t there for me.

Does anybody have the Arturia AudioFuse 16Rig with the Push 3 Standalone? Is it class compliant and running with no problems? I am looking for a interface with 16 line ins and having a look at the Arturia AudioFuse 16Rig or the MOTU 16A (2025).

I have the 16rig. I ordered a PS when it was on sale for 20% off. I never got it working properly with the 16rig and returned it. The issue for me was the 16rig whether powered on first or last would switch to 192k and the setting to change it back would be greyed out. 192k does not work on the Push.

The same happens with my MPC Live 3. I have found a workaround though. I use my old Presonus 192 as the interface for the MPC and connect the 16rigs 2 pairs of adat to the Presonus. Works fine and more channels. The 16rig is not without its issues and any updates from Arturia a few and far between. That said, I mostly like it.

I wonder if any 16rig expert can point me in the right direction.

I’ve got an Analog Rytm and Analog Four plugged into the USB host sockets.

When I have the 16rig plugged into my laptop, Ableton can control both Elektrons via the USB midi connection.

However, when I’m using the 16rig standalone without the laptop, the Elektrons can’t control each other.

Not sure if I’m missing some settings, or if it’s just not possible.

I suppose I could run midi cables between the two but it would be useful to use USB connections since they’re already cabled up.

Any ideas?

A quick tip, but wait for some experts: I don’t think the Elektrons can communicate with each other using the 16Rig as a bridge via USB; it’s a complex operation. If you wanted to do this on a PC, for example, you’d have to open a MIDI track, the outputs of one Elektron being connected to the inputs of the other… I don’t think the 16Rig can handle this; perhaps using MIDI cables.

Cool, thanks. Potentially saved me a few hours fiddling with cables and settings

yeah, i don’t think it’s meant to work that way.

The manual says if you don’t have it connected from the computer the HUB usb won’t work, but the MIDI one will, so you could potentially have one of your electron devices connected to the HUB usb, but you’d still have to use a MIDI cable for the other one.

(edit: I don’t have one of these, but was considering getting one so was just reading the manual…so this is just going off of that, not personal experience)

They say it’s class compliant but I’d say it’s not. I could not get it to work on Linux or Android.

I have found that most of the time when manufacturers say something is class compliant it means it will work on Mac and Windows. Possibly on iOS.

New owner here. Mac Mini m4 direct connection to Audiofuse. Every time I power it on it won’t show up on the Mac until I unplug and reconnect the USB cable, which given the location of both (Mac in a closet, Audiofuse in a rack) is superr annoying. Any ideas?

(Needless to say for a $1200 device with minimal functionality I am underwhelmed. I only bought it because it was 1U and had rear connections. Else my old Behringer XR18 Air ran circles around this at half the price).

Have you troubleshooted this issue with Arturia? Mine connected to ky macbook has zero issues. It could be the cable or something firmware related.

Mine does the same thing. To my knowledge this is an issue unique to Macs. Haven’t used it in months for unrelated reasons but it’s incredibly annoying. I’d love to know if there’s a fix!

If your monitor has a USB hub try connecting it through that. Works well with Macbook Pro.

What is your USB cord length? This can cause issues. Here is a good overview for that. https://www.techreviewer.com/learn-about-tech/usb-cable-max-lengths/

In my case I’m using the USB cable which came with the interface.
