ARMKII arrives tomorrow. Stoked

Currently have OTMK2, DN, both Models. Had a DT previously, but sold it for cheap to a friend that I wanted to drag into the Elektron universe with me. Any suggestions as to what I should do when I first turn it on (besides load it up with samples)?

Explore the analog engines without samples and smack those pads maybe? That’s what I’d be doing at least. Otherwise you might as well have a DT in front of you.

Make a beat. Experiment with the Distortion and the Compressor. Tonight, read the manual.

I am very curious as to what colors can be drawn out of the compressor and distortion.

And yes, I’ve been reading the manual for a couple of days now (as welll as watching Thavius Becks videos)…

Honestly, I’m merely trying to rope others into my excitement…

Oh I would love to be able to own that box. It’s just out of my price range. I sincerely hope you have lots of fun with it :slightly_smiling_face:

I recommend experimenting with scenes, performance macros, and the quick performance knob. These features allow quick immediate tweaking of track parameters. Note that the quick performance knob can be muted to immediately return all values tied to the quick performance knob to their normal values.

Check out that Dual VCO engine!
NONE of the other Elektrons have that.

You can get fantastic sounds with the synth engines, explore those! Then layer samples!

I really enjoyed the DT, and as I mentioned above, sold it to a good friend while having an ulterior motive (live in a rural area, no stores to test such greatness). So while the Models are great, and the OT is juicy, I’ve really been craving a full-fat drum machine for months. Thanks for all ya’lls suggestions - cheers!

Mine comes Friday…double stoked!
