The thing that bothers me about Audiobus is the way users tend to brow-beat software devs. There’s an arrogance there and certain users seem to feel that, because they have direct access to thee developers, they should be able to dictate what changes they want to see from their apps. It’s a shame because in the main I do like the place. Also, behind every request for an app suggestion lurks the ghost of “just use Drambo”

the problem is that it’s totally legit.

It’s true that there’s a lot of entitled behaviour on the Audiobus forum, but you see that here as well. People think that it’s easier to fix/change software than hardware, but it’s only easier in certain ways, while other complexities remain. “Just use Drambo” is their “Get an Octatrack”, I guess.

Yeah, agreed completely - I think it bothers me more there because I know a bunch of iOS devs and see how that behaviour directly affects them first-hand.
You’re 100% @chaocrator - much as it can be annoying to have it repeated so frequently, Drambo is undeniably an incredible tool for… basically anything

I just go to the Audiobus forum to check on the Piano Motifs thread. The dev is a hard worker and enthusiastic, while the users interact with him in a civilized manner. It’s a fun app to play with. I don’t really keep up with the other threads, other than LinearLineman’s posts as he’ s a highly skilled improvising keyboardist and drops some keyboard knowledge once in a while. Oh and Lady Apptitude - she posts good stuff too.

Hi, I did a search for other synth forums and this was the first, with a link to this page.
I read this thread and many of the observations concerning two previous forums that I joined, lines (lacking empathy) and Modwiggler are spot on. Now that Modwiggler is a De facto Music tribe site catering to free ad space for that corperation, I left. The vaporware gas odor and those defending that smell was just too strong there.
I wonder how long the new owner, synthCube, will put up with it?
But I enjoy reading synths discussion opinions and there is at least one person here for whom I’ve appreciated their life perspective at another well run forum, vguitarforums. Great forum just not a lot of synth discussion as it’s geared towards helping others with hi tech gear use issues.
