that you can just play or hum a note into and spit out a stereo or mono waveform?
for macs
Why not just hum a singe cycle straight into a mic, it can’t be that difficult.
To balance that last useless comment, this is a tool to make single cycle waveforms.
thanks familiar with this one but it’s not quite the same
so lazy.
A one click solution would be to download a bunch of free single cycle waveforms and then just get on with things.
Previously on Elektronauts…
also
and so on, etc.
Another option. Vital has a text-to-wavetable option. So on macOS do speech-to-text. Boom. Now you’ve got a wavetable, lazy edition™
thanks peeps, yeah I’m looking to do mostly sampling, dump a bunch of samples into an app and just batch click’em or one by one into waveforms…
I’ve done that. And maybe it’s my sheer lack of wavetable acumen but I quickly learned that not every sample makes for a good single cycle waveform. And many – if not most – of the ones that are good have been created and re-used since the '80s.
For my Evolver there’s a web-based tool to load custom single cycle waveforms to the device.

And it links to a discussion on how to make your own.

I agree, there are a whole lot of single cycles that just sound crap, even in commercial products.
I would also be remiss by not mentioning Elektron’s own Immortal Waves sound pack (free download), originally made for the Monomachine but useable with other gear.
what I really wanna do is make some synths out of old soul, blues, gospel vocals
I feel you. Something that does spectral re-synthesis may be what you’re looking for.
gonna look into that!
Tom Ellard (from Severed Heads) is pretty big into it.
haha f u jupiter 8
Slightly OT, but it does contain SCWs.
ask chatgpt to write you a script that does it. ive been doing this with all sorts of shit lately im sure its capable
intrrrestiing
The two melodic synths here were made using the gospel sample featured in the song as SCWs
