So no stock for sweetwater or other retailers in USA…
Elektron website shows that they have stock but is it accurate?
I really don’t want to wait
Unless you are able to pickup the device in person within the next 2 days or want to use a payment plan, you should purchase direct from Elektron.
I placed a deposit for mine back in April at a local shop here in DC and I was the first to do so at this store , needless to say Elektron did a poor job to keep the store in the loop with updates. It was August and I couldn’t wait anymore, I was itching to get my hands on one so I started calling retailers that advertised it online (none had it in stock) until I landed on a store in Chicago that just got one back from a return. I grabbed it, scored a little discount and am very happy to have done so, the unit was mint when I got it.
Anyway, just call around and maybe you’ll get lucky. That’s my best advice.
*The rep from which I ended up getting my AR mentioned something about one of the parts manufacturers not supplying Elektron with a component, leading them to look elsewhere for it. I’m not sure how accurate this information is but it would explain for the sudden drought.
in all seriousness, have you tried canada? not sure if you’re close to the border or how you feel about importing (sure there’s shipping and duty, but you’re ahead on the exchange rate). about three weeks ago I got my AR and AK from Tom Lee in Vancouver. walked in the store, they had a few ARs, and two days later I got my AK after they pulled it out of the warehouse. their website says they still have an AR in stock at the vancouver location. supposedly no stock online by maybe the store would ship it out. I know that there are other shops that carry elektron stuff too (moog audio for example) so there may be stock out there.
After waiting for months, I cancelled my pre-order and just ordered direct from Elektron. Ordered it on a Monday night and received it by Thursday.
I wish I had done it sooner.
Not that I really have a horse in this race, but I do wonder how may retailers they’re pissing off, didn’t one of the US ones drop Elektron completely because of it?
AFAIK, none of the retailers in my neck of the woods have them, sans one minimal inital shipment, and Elektron block direct orders. Smart move
I put an order online yesterday on the Elektron website.
Just have to wait…patiently…
Yup - Noisebug in Pomona, CA. That store is becoming my go-to place to order from (even though I am all the way on the east coast) due to their close relationship with Moog (they get a lot of factory refurb stuff and sell it at great prices). I’m surprised Elektron have let things get to this point though - not a good sign at all.
So I’ve been away from music for pretty much all of August, and just came here to check up on things, only to see the situation hasn’t improved at all it seems. Is there any store in the U.S. that has the AR in-stock? I’m ready to pull the trigger, and am most definitely not going to spend another $50 (which is essentially paying for an international UPS shipment) to order direct from HQ.
ive had a pre-order since june, after bugging the retailer about delivery dates over the past couple months, it sounds like elektron keeps giving them false hopes. unfortunately there are no-refunds on pre-orders (just store credit) so i cant order from elektron.
If you don’t mind me asking, where did you place your order?
no refunds on pre order is sort of BS…
Well, for what it is worthy: It took 1 week to receive that in USA directly from Elektron.
Sweetwater just changed the status of the Rytm:
“Elektron has informed us that this item has an unusually long shipping delay…”
Not if you order direct.
Elektron best keep up the quality of their machines. Any slip and I don’t think they’ll have the retailers there to help them up.
Or maybe they will, wtf do I know…
