Can the AR and A4 be set up with these same settings to have the AR controlling the A4?
Yes.
But
I don’t have an A4.
If I had an A4, I’d try it out the other way around, first: the A4 leading the AR.
Why?
The A4 has CV outs. The AR has both CV in, and also a distortion and compressor applied to both its drums and its external audio in. So I’d want to use the A4 to control something on the AR, and to use the AR as the “master bus” for the whole mix. Conceptually, it seems easier to follow if all the signals (MIDI, CV and audio) leave the A4 and enter the AR.
But I don’t own an A4 so wait for someone more experienced to reply.
Yes and much more.
You can control analog 4 multi map with the analog rytm too.
I think either way has it’s benefits!
…go on?
Well if you route the A4 into the rytm you get sampling capabilities and the master distortion compressor combo on all of your sound.
If you route the ar into the A4, you can use the A4 fx (better imho and dedicated fx sequencing track) for the ar, and if you want (and I often did) you can route the ar into two of the A4 tracks for processing with the filters overdrive and sequencer.
I really liked having the some perf controls for cutting, filtering, and distorting the ar in that arrangement.
