AR, AF/AK, OT, DN, and DT

Anyone a member of this club? Please share your experience :grinning:

I am! Main rig is the trinity. I spend way too much time crafting songs that I pour my soul into.
DN and DT (which I call DnT) I hooked up to batteries in a small portable rig and just write on the fly stuff that I donā€™t stress over and just have a ton of fun.
My Elektron rigs are the most fun Iā€™ve ever had making music.
Canā€™t wait for the next box!
(Actually thinking about a heat on the master of my trinity)

Well, I have AR, AF, DN, DT, AH.
Somewhere was a real need, somewhere it was GAS. I just couldnā€™t resist buying new black AR, so like how it looks

Can I be a member, pleeease?

Iā€™m currently in the club sans Digitone (which seems inevitable at this point). At the moment, I only have the trinity (OT, A4, RYTM) running with MPC X as master. I mostly just use the MPC as an entry point to samples, laying something down, which is then transferred to the OT in usb mode. Iā€™m not a DJ and have no business having all this stuff but what can ya do.

iā€™m almost thereā€¦ AR Mk2 Black, OT Mk2, AH Mk2, DT, DN

ā€¦and trying not to splurge on the A4 Mk2 Black :flushed:

Only (not really) missing the Model:Samples.
My favorite rig for my impro sessions with friends is OT+DN and another piece. Most often, the Cycles.

I have tried to incorporate non-Elektron pieces, but I miss the onboard Elektron sequencer each time, it feels too staticā€¦

Currently thinking about a case, but I canā€™t decide which of the Analog I should get in the rig.

3 Elektron is the big max I can play simultaneously, but 2 is better, less sounds, less frenzy, and more interactivity.

The heart has been OT from the very start, 6 years ago now.
Still my favorite instrument.
If I lost everything, this would be the one machine I would get back.

Well honestly I see no reasons (except money) NOT to buy it. A beautiful piece of gear. And when it sits together with AR MK2, they look so good. I mean considering and justifying DT when you have OT would be one thing. But here is a different situation - your collection misses an Elektron analog synthā€¦ so I think its just a matter of time, lol

I was enrolled in this elektron spiral at the time i get back to music production i would say around 2008-2009.

I come from the Old computer - Old Akai sampler ERA, i switch groovebox then.

Few years later i miss-invested in the Pro Studio way instead of a home studio which was a mistake financially (big Tascam with motorized faders, Virus KC, Akai Z8, MC909, RS7000, Dynaudio Monitors, super duper computerā€¦ Powercore Firewire, Liquidmix oh damn, what an idiot i was).

Few years production break because i learnt the hard way you need knowledge if you want to be able to use right the equipment.

I listen everything i done in this past and concluded i was more productive on the groovebox ecosystem rather than ITB (even if i take the hybrid road very fast considering the time, it was very early). So i decided when heard great things about the Red Beast aka the MachineDrum to invest for the first time in a real drum machine. At this time it was not possible to invest in 808, 909, 303ā€¦ those gears at 3 numbers with a 4 numbers price second hand.

Then the Octatrack.
Then when you are in the Elektron train car and they smartly modernize and release incredible machine like AR and A4 : you jump on it again ā€¦ because you just want it as well

Today i have to smartly progress to get back everything after a financial/health issue where i literally sold everything - and i had everything i need for my live performance project (AR, A4, OT, HPD20, Behringer X18, Analog Heat, Focal Monitoring). It slowly come back and i will soon be able to work on this project very soon again.

I had MD, MM, OT, AR, A4, AK, AH - i really know well the dark trinity because i have more time with this team than the others. At some point i replace with ARmk2, OTmk2 and A4mk2 then i had some issue again, and fall back to zero. Like a poker player i would say.

For now i have the Toraiz SP16 and the Argon8m - i need the A4 and AR back. Then the DT (edit: DN I mistype) for FM Bass. probably the Heat mk2ā€¦ and a mixer to get audio in my computer. (SP16, Argon8m)
So i have a long road to get everything i need again.

Every attempt i made outside elektron was a ā€œnoā€. For many reasons, first elektron goes hybrid as well as me so this is a perfect match here when i invest in accordance with my principles.
Also this is the only brand to me to progressively enhance theirs machines and not only the new stuff - which is for a me a big respect to the money i spend, put that the 3 years warranty even if you bought the device second hand and you are the second owner or moreā€¦ And boom, just like that a lot of brand disappear to my interest. We tend to not see that much as an argument, well honestly they deserve a big thanks here.

Then, i made few tutorials like Harnessed Chaos from Noah Pred, was very interested by the subject because i just love the chance parameter on the beat repeat in Ableton Live for years now. And in my Hybrid approach itā€™s just make sense when they release trig conditions.

So they have a spot on to me, in terms of progressive enhancement and new stuff releases. Iā€™m am pretty sure to stay with them at least for the next decade. Thereā€™s no sequencer with that power, thereā€™s no gear with so many workaround and incredibly smart ideas. And the cherry on the cake itā€™s grow with yearsā€¦ and they make their thing even better with time like wine.

Period. Elektron : THANKS YOU SO MUCH.

iā€™m not blindly a fan boy. i have a lot of arguments to justify my join and to be loyal

Can I be in the gang with AR, AK, OT, DN and M:S?

The whole Elektron workflow was a game changer for me, a long time fan of the OTB/standalone groove box concept.

i dont need more encouragement lol

i do have some other gas i was hoping to satisfy first but the order will largely depend on local stock and none of what i have been looking at is available right now

Are you using your Digitakt in the same manner after youā€™ve added the AR MK2? Especially since the AR has onboard sampling.

This is very surprising coming from the author of:

Been using it for two things since then:

  1. As a MIDI controller for my Sirin, BigSky and TD3.
  2. As a sampler for non-drum samples. I like it when they add movie dialogues or monologues to songs (came from my childhood when my brother listened to porno-goregrind and other grindcore where there was lots of this stuff lol). So I practice it too in my ā€œcreationsā€

But yea, before AR I used it for drums too.

Btw its really interesting to listen how other people use DT + AR together and why they keep them both

absolutely not. i love house music, i love raw bass without filtering (FM Basses). What can pair well the A4, surely the Digitone in that regard. Also, the more Bass types i can get, the best it isā€¦ we never have too many basses in a setup.

Edit : sorry I didnā€™t see I wrote DT instead of DN my mistake

I guess you mean DN here, right?
