AR & A4 MkII CHNG parameter broken

CHNG only works for cued patterns, not for chains or song mode. latest version of the manual (updated a few weeks ago) explicitly states that CHNG is intended to work for “cued and chained patterns,” and uses that phrase a couple of times:

Capture

it is obviously intended to work on chains and in song mode, as would be perfectly intuitive for such a parameter. i was so excited when i read this section of the manual. unfortunately it does not work as intended, and also causes a delay when receive a program change (pattern change) midi message. there are loads of confused forum posts about both of these issues, going back years.

running latest OS, 1.40C on AR and 1.30B on A4. support ticket opened, i’d encourage everyone who enjoys polyrhythms to do the same.

also if anyone has any information or solutions for this, i would LOVE to hear it!

I’m having problems with this too. If I punch the banks and trigs to switch patterns, patterns switch as expected. Same if I make a chain.

However, AR always wants to cue up a pattern change when receiving a PGM change over MIDI. I can’t get it to do an instant pattern switch.

Might be that I have length and chng values set up wrong. But after much experimentation and rationalizing I couldn’t get any predictable performance.

Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?
