Yeah, even the in ear airbuds are a sham. 6hrs of battery life, I get people don’t listen to audio for that long at one time usually but having to charge them that regularly makes me think they wouldn’t last very long overall. But people buy it.

I mean call the airpods what you want but they did sort of popularize the format of Bluetooth earbuds. This is just… wireless headphones. Mind-blowing stuff.

Ouch! I have the AirPod pros and really like them from a convenience perspective. Sounds not too bad too. Was looking forward to getting the cans but at this price they can forget it!!!

I reckon they took the Beats by Dre and added the AirPod Pros features.
This seems like it would be wildly inconvenient for a number of reasons. But…I’m sure they’ll be successful with it

I read recently that if Apple’s Air Pods were their own startup business, they’d be among the most successful ever.
On-topic - no way I’m spending 500 bucks on wireless headphones. There’s plenty of other dumb stuff I’d spend 500 bucks on before that.

…for that price…i would probably be looking at a really good pair of studio headphones or maybe a decent one+add something else, then again…those might be high quality and sound good too…but don’t know…not sure i would like to be charging the headphones once in a while

Yeah it’s a bit bizarre. I like the thought of a charging case but could they not make everything fold in such a wall that it was effectively the size and shape of the two ear cups clasped together?!

I’m confused, what is this? The cable looking thing.
Is it Bluetooth only or also has a 3.5mm output jack? The description section for connectivity only shows Bluetooth.

I believe it has a lightening port though not sure if that means charging only or charge + audio capabilities. Has to be the latter!
Lacking Wired audio is what has stopped me upgrading my Sony 1000x’s actually

The article mentions this and the apple watch as status symbols, in the same sentence as Rolex watches. I feel that people viewing this kind of short lifecycle tech stuff in the same way as swiss horology says a lot about modern consumerism.

I took a chance on these Wyze headphones for $50 - and they turned out to be pretty damn good! Close in my experience to Bose, and super comfortable. Wouldn’t use them for music production, but good for music listening and tv.

Still rocking a pair of QC 35’s. The on/off switch is pretty much shot (they never turn off and always drain the battery) - but otherwise, I’ve considered picking up a new pair, they suit my needs. About 1/4 of the cost of the new Apple ones. Tbh I don’t like the Apple design - too bulky. But that price, sheesh. Would rather spend a few hundred more and get a MacBook Air.
Apple’s pricing is so ridiculous now days. It’s just off the chart.
