Octatrack has the chorus, compressor and plate reverb I believe, right? Or a couple of those at least. I’d personally combine octatrack with ST, DN, A4. Or get an M8 or OP1 or something. I hear you though. I’d like Syntakt updates to give it more mnm like flexibility

you can do single cycle waveform stuff with the OT can’t you? (i’ve never owned one) …if so that plus obv plenty of samples would get a bit of the way towards a chunk of the desired aspects of the MM. you’d think Elektron would be working towards incorporating some of those MM/MD elements that are obviously missed into future devices…

To come back to the subject, I believe a few years with an instrument let you discover new ways of producing sounds.
I have recently tried to recreate some S-1 patches on the A4, and I discovered new areas and managed to create some sounds I had been looking for for a long time.
What makes MM special is both the sequencing (thinking of the traversing plocks), the numerous engines and the weird filter resonance and other ways to blow the sounds.
In other sonic territories, I’d say that synths as capable as an old A4 or the little M8 could fit OP’s description. But it’s less the synth than the time spent on using it.

Akai Force… or MPC Live/One might cover your requirements.
On MM, you can plock a parameter with different values e.g. on steps 1 and 15 and every step in between will play the interpolated v askip for this parameter.

Another reason the M8 is in some ways comparable, you can retrig specific modulators (envelopes, LFOs), or not (“trigless”.)

The m8 looks great apart from the interface 
There aren’t many boxes that you can use practically with your eyes closed once you get to know them. And I can assure you, you won’t find more intuitive and streamlined interfaces than the M8.

Yes, on the other machines you can plock Env and lfo triggering (trig menu) which is imo a more efficient UX.

The only device I’ve ever had that I could actually use to any passable level with my eyes closed was Maschine. That says something about the thought that went into that user experience. M8 relies too much on the visual aspect to do this (and I know you didn’t literally mean eyes closed) But I really enjoy its minimalist interface.

In terms of architecture the Octatrack is probably one of the closer machines.
It has 8 tracks which you can assign a machine to.
You can assign a neighbour machine to a track next to an audio track to allow fx stacking .
The digital fx are related more to that era than modern Elektrons.
You have 3 lfos per track ( so with a neighbour you can have 6 lfo influencing the source tracks audio via fx or amp parameters)
Then you can further become creative via scenes, crossfader and parts.
I use mine stacked with monomachine samples and single cycle waveforms from the mnm machines.
Its NOT a monomachine but by god you can do some crazy monomachine sounding stuff with it 🫠
