I have a couple of long samples (7 mins long) and I would like to play them at the beggining of each pattern.
So, on patther A01 a long sample starts playing on track 04
When i change to pattern A02, i´d like that sample to stop playing and maybe trig another long sample on track 04.
Using one shot samples doesn´t seem like a goog option, because I have to remember to rearm the track when i change to pattern A02.
Slowing down the pattern to 1/8x gives me 512 bars, but it´s not enough for the 7mins.
When TRC will come : you can on a same pattern put 3 trig cond at the beginning using the microtiming for the two neighbors trigs … . Even withou trc, you can use the arranger to run the set up you talked about
maybe try “Plays Free” and then put a nano loop section at the end of each 7 minute sample via the Editor, just looping silence so it only effectively “sounds” once? Start point at the start of the sample, nano-silent loop points at the completion of the audio clip perhaps.
I have a project on an OT MKII, where there’s a normal, red lit trig in the first steps of tracks T1 & T2 (both static), in a one page (16 step) pattern.
They trig long samples, and, to my surprise, play back the whole files (and loop them) without retriggering them when restarting the pattern. This is what I want, so I’m happy about it, but can’t seem to recreate this way of playback.
So, there’s no one shot trig messing around here, these are normal trigs, but for some reason, they play the whole files. I wish to do so with other projects/samples too, but it doesn’t work.
What do I miss here?
None of the tracks are set to “plays free”.
I did check the forum before. One shot trig is not an option for being a headache rearming it all the time. Nor tempo multiplying.
What I’m looking for is an answer to why a simple trig trigs that long sample as it’s described above.
