Does anyone have any experience with the K&M 18840 Baby Spider Pro? I have a small space, so need something compact to accommodate a Moog Grandmother and Reface CP. This is rather pricey, but since it’s essentially going to be furniture, I need something that looks nice that the wife won’t complain about. Looks like the base would leave enough room at the bottom to setup my pedalboard/looper, which is a big plus.
I don’t have the Baby Spider, I have the Spider Pro. The only difference should be that the beam in the middle is longer.
Anything specific that you want to know?
Thanks. I’m trying to figure out how compact it is. It’s really hard to get a sense of scale in the photos and the dimensions are given in a range, so a bit hard to envision. The regular version is way too big for my space. I guess it’s best to compare the specs for the big one versus the baby. I was sort of hoping if someone had one they could post some pictures.
One question that maybe you could answer now that I think about it is how would those arms be with smaller synths? Specifically, a Moog Grandmother and Yamaha Reface CP, if you know those.
I don’t own those synths but they seem quite small.
I don’t think the Spider stands are for small synths, unless you get the flat metal plates.
When the arms folds out they form a triangle, as you’ve probably already saw.
The length of the arms is adjustable.
At minimum length, the distance between the tip of the arms is about 60cm and you would be able to fit something that is about 30cm deep (assuming no cables in the way of the beam in the middle)
I use mine for a Nord Lead A1 which is 80cm wide. It works quite well for that and if I lengthen the arms by one step then they end up being just wide enough to wedge themselves between the rubber feet of my Nord.
Thanks. I was wondering if the Baby one would be different, but hadn’t realized the arms were the same. Looks like I need to explore other options.
