Anyone know this Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith setup?

Buchla easel +?

Looks like a touchscreen tablet and clip launch controller? Curious if anyone knows the apps/workflow going on?

Just saw apparently there’s an ipad app for Easel presets. So guess maybe she’s triggering easel configs via the midi clip launcher>ipad?

Edit - Behringer please make an affordable Easel… I don’t even allow myself to put the Easel in mental ‘gear I want’ lists… way expensive…

Indeed, Behringer giving us access to the elusive buchla stuff at reaonable prices sounds like a killer idea!

Hard to tell from this video …

… but I have a video about Suzanne Ciani, who explains very detailed her Buchla+ setup

Since both arists know each other, there might be a chance that they share some set-up in common. At least in this video she explaines her use of an iPad. Maybe her information is intersting for you.

I think that an “Easel” is not big business enough. It’s not only the price. To work with west-coast stile instruments is not in the mainstream. Even in the modular world east-coast seems to be the dominant configuration.

Even if it was much cheaper than the original, I guess, only synth aficionados like us would want it

Edit: Interested in west-coast synth stile? Go modular, it’s already there …

Well … not a bargain, but very inspiring and generating great sound.

Hi there. I went to this Ableton meetup in Berlin where she was explaining her setup. A little video of this event can be found here, shes performing, not talking, but you can see a lot of the interaction with her gear:

Here’s the interview: https://www.ableton.com/en/blog/kaitlyn-aurelia-smith/
