Anyone bought from Orgon Systems?

Im looking to pick one up… would rather the real deal rather than a clone but not sure of the legitimacy of this site… been speaking with the guy… he says all payments are made through a secured paypal invoice but just thought I’d ask here incase anyone has!

Registered business number ok whats app but fek knows what that means and if it serves value to my safety…

Anyway, if anyone knows, let me know! :ok_hand:

Chrissake, looking at that web page I don’t blame you for seeking affirmation.

My experience with shitty web design is it’s a guy without much practical experience on the internet but still would like to get your money so he’s giving it a shot.

I did a google search looking for webstats on the wordpress (host) page you linked and found this similarly skeptical reddit post asking similar questions, you can look it over but the person tentatively says that even though the page is sketchy and recent, that it checks out as Geoff Waterston, the og creator, being behind it.

Orgon System Enigiser clone, diy and the real deal on the way : r/synthesizers (reddit.com)

I doubt anyone has bought off of it but I’d do some deep googling and see if you find anything else before sending your money. Paypal does have your back against fraud though.

A friend of my mine bought it. His name is hakan Çepni you can find him on insta. İts a beautifull machine and its very Boutique so im not surprised that the website is bad.

how can something be so boutique that you cant make a squarespace webstore. the absolute cahones required to expect people to make a legitimate, large purchase through whatsapp. yeah theres no way in hell the site in OP is legit.

https://analogsweden.com/ İ think this is right place to buy it i guess. İ wrote too quickly before checking all the website you gave it looks very shady.

Cheers guys! Yeah the analog sweden stuff is a clone though. I’ll get it if I have too but original is what im after.

I guess the shoddy website isn’t the best starting point but the effort put in including videos, faq’s etc makes it seem a little more plausible!

Who knows, if i do risk it, i’ll post here and let people know.

Does anyone have any idea how long it would take paypal to pay out if i was robbed?

I don’t have exact numbers, but not too long. Pending investigation, probably 30 days or less from your claim, but it would be best to contact their customer service directly with a general inquiry as to how long it takes for them to (generally) resolve fraud protection issues, just rather than get into a long story about a shady website selling unicorns :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Good advice mate, thanks for taking the time

for the record, most wordpress pages look pretty shitty. spitfire tortoiseshell pickguards (super high end $400 tort replicas) and midisizer (midigal which is a clone+ of midipal) are both on wordpress, both look fishy, and are both totally legit. Not speaking for the one in question, but just saying it happens.

Yeah man, I’ve generally found this to be the case. There’s a few serge builders who are the exact same, i guess for those guys, they have lots of feedback on forums so trusting isn’t an issue.

Yet to see/hear anyone use this site…

Right, there’s definitely some of these guys who set up shop strictly to field the word of mouth business from forums. I’d surely exercise caution, but if you can get dude on facetime (if he even knows what it is) under the pretense of asking a few questions and confirm it’s the same guy, I’d say the risk is then more or less halved. Just a thought, good luck friend!

Man, that’s nothing…. I was thinking it’d be worse.

Here’s a great shop, great personal communication and a horrible website: https://www.analoguehaven.com/

If I had a bigger place, a bigger Eurorack setup with lots of empty spaces, I’d give them more business!

My Web site is coded in HTML 1.0 by hand, looks like utter shit, but I am not trying to sell anything.

I have bought from Analogue Haven, quite a nice experience once I trudged through their site.

So hard to know what is legitimate any more.

That does look pretty suspicious, like some frederated kinda shit (if you remember frederated). Luckily it’s not a shady sales page contest because arizona tube supply might take the cake, although if you want some vintage tubes it might be the right place to shop.

Arizona Tube Supply - Audio and Radio Tubes for Sale

I was saying that I don’t blame the OP though, because for an item at the cost of what this thing is liable to cost ( £1495 plus shipping, in case you were wondering) being sold on a site like that which immediately mentions how you can order via “whatsapp” without even the “add to cart” shopping experience that analoguehaven provides, it throws up red flags right off the bat

In reference to Frederated

It was actually called “the federated group” but the guy’s name was Fred, and they had some gag where he’d say something to the effect of “that’s not federated, it’s frederated”, either way it always seemed pretty shady.

Anyways, sorry to bombard your post with shade OP.

Tough crowd.

I remember Geoff Waterstone wrote an article about TR-606 mods in The Mix magazine (formerly Music Technology) in the early 90’s.

So he isn’t a web designer, but his synths seem to be well regarded. I would not jump to conclusions just based on his website though.

Oh, I remember Frederated. How could one forget it?

What does it say about me that I think this website looks totally fine? I can’t imagine this website would belong to anyone other than they guy in the camo hat who makes this obscure synthesizer. If you go to the FAQ page you can tell the site legit; it’s way too personal to be fake.

I mean, always use caution when doing bank transfers, but it’s not totally out of the ordinary. When I bought a Drumatix from Acidlab it was via bank transfer. Same with a 73-75 Serge panel from the Human Comparator.

faderfox website entered the chat

honestly it looks like myspace page or something made in DreamWeaver rather professional controllers website, unless there was plethora of online reviews one would definitely think that it’s a scam. he doesn’t even have SSL lmao.

Never seen the contact through WhatsApp before. Most OG websale types will have you email them saying what you want, then they write up an invoice, then you digital sign it and give them payment info.

Now this is a website!
