Anyma Phi

Fair point. “Surprised” was the wrong word. I would have better said “disappointed”. Arranging everything to legally open up in the event Aodyo ceased to be a ongoing concern would have required a level of detail and foresight from a company in short supply of both, so was never realistic.

I’m just trying to express I’m happy to see another update for my Phi — but I’m also sad it seems to close the door on future community effort. Likewise, I’ve been thrilled with Anyma V — but am sad that I can’t really rely on it now, as it seems destined to slowly rot under the weight of small incompatibilities as technology marches forward.

So this is an oddly simultaneous satisfying/disappointing release to me. But that’s just feelings. Not a statement on the way things should be.

I, too, am pleased to see this! The Phi doesn’t get a lot of use in my studio lately, but I’ll definitely check this out. Maybe the bagpipe can give the TE EP-1320 (which I don’t have) a run for its money in annoying my cat this weekend…

Working on software, and having been the technical program manager for a large open source project at Google (Flutter) I get why there’s no open-source release. It’s tricker than it sounds, and for each Deluge, Flutter, or the like, there are a tremendous number of casualties. Yes, it would be great, yes, perhaps people would rally around it, but it’s also a tremendous amount of work to do well and, in my mind, crash and burn.

It’s also very unclear if it would actually be legally possible for such a clause to be executed. I don’t know about French law, to be clear, but it’s the kind of thing I’d expect to see end up in court if someone with the intent to actually use it bought the company out of bankruptcy.

Well that was a nice little update, it’s unfortunate it looks like it’ll be the final one

Doubt it. You could try.

Line level works great and i use it all the time.

Just be ready to process your mic input, which is no sweat.

I wanted to make sure before I buy it
Haven’t seen this topic in the manual neither YouTube videos

I hope it can work or use a preamp to get enough signal
Or maybe I can trigger the piezo mic but vía midi … that should work hopefully?
Thanks again !

Last question , now that Aodyo is in bankrupt, is that an issue for Anyma users ?

To me, yes, 800 euro down the drain. Painful. Even more since I sold my Phi to finance the Omega.

Oops. Hope you can find another.

I found this link broken, but the working one wasn’t too hard to find.

YouTube videos for this unit are mad bland. Does someone here have any jams with Anyma Phi presets to showcase? I’m especially interested in bass guitar & electric bass guitar sounds.

I just got myself a PHI but it’s not possible to dl the editor. I tried to contact the company for a week but got no answer. Anyone have the editor to share?
Peace

Yeah i have it. Which OS ?
Hopefully this link works… both Windows and OSX in there anyway as well as the manual  Unique Download Link | WeTransfer

The company no longer exists, BTW.

Not sure how you describe its status exactly.

Hi there,
One of thoses popped up for a very decent price in my neighbourhood. Since I had been badly gassing for it when it was released, but couldn’t justify the cost, I’m tempted to just get it now (for less than half the release price).

One question to users, though: how good would you say it is for percussive sounds?
