Any way to use the USB input from Digitakt when using another ASIO sound device in my DAW?

I think I know the answer to my question but in case I overlooked something:

  • I use a Xone 96 (amazing mixer!) and the Digitakt is pluged into it.
  • The Xone is set as the soundcard in Ableton Live, so I can also use Live as an additional instrument, and send audio from the Xone to Live for processing.
  • I use the above for resampling: Audio from Digitakt goes to Xone, Xone sends audio digitally to Live, I apply some processing and then I want to resample that in the Digitakt.

The way I do that now is to send back the sound digitally to the Xone and use an analog output of the xone to go to the inputs of the Digitakt.

What I would love doing is sending the audio from the computer directly to the digitakt via USB, without changing the soundcard settings nor the cables setup. The Digitakt is plugged via USB to the computer as well.

I’m working on Windows, so no aggregate driver for Live…

I think you could do this using the Overbridge plugin but not class compliant soundcard. Overbridge exposes the outputs and inputs of the DT while keeping your primary interface enabled.

Thanks for answering. The thing is (I tried that), when using Overbridge, then the sound of the Digitakt goes to the DAW, not to the jack outputs anymore.

Unless I overlooked a setting? Is it possible to use Overbrdge just to access the resampling input of the Digitakt but leave the audio output go to the L/R jack outputs?

You want the sound to come OUT of the DT Outs?

I’m not sure then. Maybe someone else has done this.

Yes, I want the mains from the Digitakt to reach my mixer, there I tweak the sound, send it to the DAW via USB (from the mixer, it’s acting as a soundcard) for other processing and would love to get it back to the Digitakt digitally.
