I’ve been using my RYTM as an audio interface with DT into Digitone and Digitone into RYTM. I love the quality of sound I’m getting from the headphone out of RYTM, but of course when I record into Ableton the sound is not the same. I realize there are sound quality issues when recording and monitoring with RYTM and so on.
I’m looking to get an audio interface so that what I hear from the outputs of the RYTM can be recorded faithfully. My budget is around 400 euros. I’ve heard good things about Audient and I’m wondering if at this price point there are any better interfaces? Thoughts?
Focusrite interfaces have really good converters. May want to check those out.
For the money, Audient amps and conversion should be pretty much state of the art. In terms of things like latency its probably far down a chart compared to others- but then milliseconds part the extremes these days. Focusrite´s latest generations are probably comparable.
Audient id22 is 399 euros at the moment. I think that’s a pretty good deal. I like the two send/returns and the adat for future expansion. Think I’m going to get it.
Thats the one I have. I suppose next up in line would be antelope/ua/rme. A used RME would prob be my second choice, but thats going to be quite a bit more anyway naturally. No midi is the only real short. Id22 is very clean and transparent id say.
I’ve had a couple of scarlett 2i2 and they both went wrong. Not sure what to get next but it won’t be focusrite.
ooo that sucks! Never had one myself, but used them a lot and I like the clarity.
Replying to my own thread - I’ve had the Audient ID22 for a few days now and I’m more than impressed with the sound quality. Like really impressed. Great value for the money. Plus they include two Eventide plugins that are extremely good (loving ultra reverb) and these by themselves cost a fair amount and are worth it. Definitely recommended.
