Anker Soundcore Motion+

I was looking for a new portable speaker for my mobile setup the other day and I came across an old post where someone recommended this speaker. I was looking at getting a Minirig 4 but it seemed far too expensive for what it was so I decided to get this one instead. I can’t find the thread now but I wanted to come here to thank whoever it was that recommended it.

It seems like an excellent speaker for the money with an aux in, seemingly zero latency and long battery life. It doesn’t seem to compress or colour the sound either. The EQ curve seems flat to my ears so it’s more like a reference monitor than your average portable speaker. It doesn’t seem to switch off after a few mins of silence either like my last one.

I got the soundcore boom plus 2 for the same reason and it rocks. Half the cost of a JBL and way better specs

i got 2 of the motion + (you can link them) but in bluetooth mode you might get latencies. Via cable/aux in no latency. They can get quite loud and every now and then i’m thinking of making some kind of “horn” to put them in to extend volume even more and also bass response. i think for the money it is great. Soundcore has sales now and then… as you say, battery life is quite amazing and long bike rides blasting out dub or Mozart or similar are really fun.

i have one of these and it sounds good after you eq it a little in the app.
however i guess i’m spoiled by my little 12-year old anker bluetooth box where the battery would last for weeks. the motion+ battery lasts maybe 4-5 hours (with bass boost engaged most of the time)

Just a little tangent: I have the Minirig 3 (a pair + subwoofer) and gotta say: they’re the most impressive small speakers I’ve ever listened to. It can seem expensive but mine have been going strong for 6 years, every single person that listened to them got impressed.

just for understanding, is there any latency with the AUX cable? Have you tested it while playing?

no latency for me!
