I’m interested in the Anaologue Heat, but is it worth 800 quid? I’ve been putting my Digitone through my Strymon Nightsky pedal and getting some awesome results. Same for Walrus Audio Fable pedal (granular). I’m sure it’s very good but, if you already have good pedals, is it worth it?
800 quid! No.
400 quid. Yes.
Second hand wins.
Ah ha! Thought so. Thanks.
Very worth it. I bought three. Use it on everything.
you bought three? ok. I assume you’re a kind of billionaire !
To be fair, I have one. And I use it a lot, it’s amazing. Didn’t pay 800 pound for it though.
I am a great fan of the Analog Heat, and upgraded from mk1 to mk2 when I had a convenient chance to do so at almost no expense, just for the larger screen. But the mk1 does everything you need at a bargain price these days.
Not sure any granular pedal is worth it; it’s a very limited effect. Do you have an iPhone or iPad? There are some great inexpensive apps.
A mere thousandaire
Two were trades lol. So I only “bought” one MKII new and it was at a 20% discount from Perfect Circuit.
thanks. my digitone cost 400 quid with a part ex for 100. fkng amazing machine for (effectively) 300 quid
its only limited for as long as you’re prepared to spend with it. its totally sublime with my Soma Lyra 8
I can see it working with a Lyra-8. What are you using?
Walrus Audio Fable (though mono is it’s limit)
Okay, I misread your original post, thought you were asking about the Fable, not having one.
nah. had one for a while. its also wicked with a bass guitar. especially harmonic stuff
I think you will be happy with Digitone through the Heat, both for pads and percussion.
im tempted. a bit of a spend, for me right now though. just not quite sure what it does so well. ive watched youtube vids, but none are selling it to me
Then you don’t need/want one. Forget it and move on.
Just because it exists, doesn’t mean you need it or even want it.
Make tunes, ignore the magpie effect.
Ha! Ha! Thanks. No bullshit answer much appreciated. I’ll go ahead and waste my money on something else!
It’s really hard to put a finger on it. I don’t think demos do it justice. What sold it to me originally was not so much those, as the overwhelmingly positive reports from users on this forum. It just makes things sound better. Warmer, richer, with a good range from extremely subtle to extremely destructive. The filter is more aggressive than the Elektron norm, the EQ is useful, as is the envelope follower which allows for some interesting modulation. It’s quite playable.
I agree with @Microtribe though; if you’re not already sold, keep it on the back burner.
Thanks man! Ideally, I’d like to just try it out. I’m doing a lot of writing, but getting tempted to simlpy but something new and cool (GAS!). Thanks to you both.
