Analog Rytm MK2 as Midi Slave

I want to use my Analog Rytm MK2 as slave and have a Roland MC707 as master. Other than transport play / stop I don’t wish to control anything else from the MC707 and make use of Rytm own sequencer.

In Rytm midi settings if I activate midi transport receive then ensure both pieces of gear are playing at the same bpm this setup works as I would like things to work - however - it is very unreliable in terms of staying in sync and I would not trust this set up for a live show.

If in Rytm I activate midi clock receive I see that it clocks in sync nicely but the patterns are no longer launched or playing on the Rytm and I’m not sure how to launch activate them. It seems to just sound the very first hit of the pattern then nothing.

Can anyone shed some light on possible approaches here and what it or isn’t possible etc?

Ideally I want to be able to have MC707 master clock sending to Rytm and then have patterns playing from Rytm and be able to launch new ones in sync etc. Is this doable?

Does enabling receive midi clock on rytm deactivate it’s sequencer and patterns and it only can then be used as a sound source?

I need to have MC707 as master clock because it doesn’t work well as slave and has issues.
